Re: " Demons "

Had to comment on this thread, as it is both interesting and at the same

time there is so much nonsense talked about this in CM.

Since the Wei Jing (campanion to the Nei Jing) was lost a long time ago, we

will never know the basis for Œexternal¹ pathology, which includes demons. I

have never found or had a credible explanation from anyone regarding the

Worsely based prescriptions for the Dragons, and Sun Si Miao¹s Ghost points

have almost no referencing available. On that basis, I do not personally

feel that this has anything more than academic interest, and it is unethical

to experiment on patients by using them in the clinical context.

However, it seems clear to me from my more recent experience that people who

get diagnosed as being Œpossessed¹ are usually suffering from Post Traumatic

Stress Disorder. For those that are interested, the books below provide more

info on this area. The first one covers the mind-body relationship of

trauma, the second the neurobiology (groundbreaking stuff) and the third the

Mindfulness approach.

Levine, P. A. (1997). Waking the Tiger. North Atlantic Books.

Neurobiology of Emotional Development. Lawrence Erlbaum Assoc.
