Daom at Samra!

Hi Mike,

I just got off the phone with Samra. They are beginning their DAOM

program April 1,2007. For me the program is of particular interest

because it is the first and only program that I am aware of not

requiring a time commitment Friday evenings and Saturdays, times when

I am unavailable. Rather, the didactic and clinical programs are to

be conducted Thursday evenings and all day Sundays. It's also nice

having a program here in LA, not requiring me to relocate. Props to

Dr. Will Morris for getting the ball rolling and making it happen.

Thanks, Will!

As I get more information about the program I will post it.

Yehuda,

What do you think of the DAOM at Emperor's college, also in the LA area?

Dear Mike,

I seriously considered it, and was quite impressed with both the faculty and

the people I know who were participants, but the folks at Emperor's weren't

able to accommodate my schedule. How does the saying go? " When the student is

ready, the master will appear " . I really do live my life according a corollary

upon which that aphorism is based: When I want to pursue an endeavor, no matter

what it is, I apply myself to make it happen. I find that there are three

possible results to my efforts: Either no matter what I do, the road seems to

be blocked, in which case, I accept it as what we call in Yiddish, " nisht

barshert " (not meant to be), and consider alternatives to take. Or, sometimes I

apply myself, and though lots of difficulties present themselves to the point of

wanting even to give up, through sheer perseverance and will-power, as well as

asking for help and guidance from above, it somehow works out! Ah,but then

there are those rare magical times,

when things just open up and fall into place. When they occur, they are

incredibly special, even miraculous, as if doors are being opened up before me.

(The one important implicit point to emphasize, though, is that all three are

predicated upon honesty and integrity. To succeed by cheating or at someone

else's expense, demonstates a lack of trust in the veracity of these three

premises). Furthermore, I feel that it's important to emphasize that the

perspective that one has, has a tremendous impact on what one is dealt. I feel

strongly, that when one is optimistic, hopeful, accepting and views the

proverbial glass as half-full, then that person makes themselves a vessel to

receive and hold the wonderful blessings which they deserve and need. And with

that perspective, one even is able to view one's failures (of course assuming

that one applies themself!) as successes, because they open a person to the

possibility of changing directions either to the right or

left, instead of continuing to bang one's head continuously against the wall.

Sorry for such a long winded answer to such a straight forward question.

All the best,

Yehuda
