Guest guest
I wonder if anyone has encountered serum sickness in a pediatric patient? 6 y.o. boy took a 10-day course of omnicef for otitis media. Starting day 7 of antibiotics developed a spiking fever of 104F, enormous lymph nodes, swollen red tonsils. After completing the course of abx, developed huge, angry red welts all over his body, low grade fever, very sore throat and swollen tonsils. Pulse is full and rapid, tongue has yellow coat in the rear, and is peeled in patches (which is from inhaled corticosteriods for asthma, which is the primary reason I see him). Anyone have advice on frequency of acu treatments? I am loathe to give him herbs on top of a system clearly broken by too many meds. Thank you in advance for any experience.
