Guest guest
All of this talk about practice management, which I am constantly thinking about anyway, has me wondering if anyone out there does a Report of Findings (ROF) with their patients (or something like it). I am currently working in an office with a chiro who does ROF with all of his patients on their 2nd visit and he is encouraging me to do the same. It helps him with educating patients and also with patient retention. It seems to help with a patients commitment to their own care too. It is also a time to lay out a clear treatment plan (which I am not always so great at doing). Currently in my practice I kind of do an ongoing ROF - that is, I tend to explain things as they come up or answer questions as they are asked. This works some of the time but can be cumbersome at times as well. Any thoughts or ideas out there? All of the recent conversations about practice management issues have been very insightful - thank everyone for their willingness to share. Adam Schreiber, R.Ac. Guest guest
i do this on the initial. my initial takes approx 1 1/4 hr (less with short med hist). after getting the hist., i give and explain dx, Tx Plan, explain herbal therapy and decide with patient on raw or granules, prognosis, freq and number of visits, etc. unless they travel a long distance to get to the office, or are in acute pain, i gen. schedule the first visit later in the week. this is because for awhile i was having probs with new pat cancelling, and i didn't like losing a 2+ hour block of time (initial + tx) on short notice. generally after i do the ROF, patients are on board, follow through with tx and are quite compliant. also, i don't spend time during follow-ups fielding a host of quest., i cover it all thoroughly on the first visit. kb On 1/22/07, Adam Schreiber <schreib wrote: > > All of this talk about practice management, which I am constantly > thinking about anyway, has me wondering if anyone out there does a > Report of Findings (ROF) with their patients (or something like it). > I am currently working in an office with a chiro who does ROF with all > of his patients on their 2nd visit and he is encouraging me to do the > same.
