I think that the information is more than an entertaining anecdote. We have all benefited from research done on animals -should we resent time spent giving back to heal animals? Do we discriminate or does healing include all sentient beings? I have 3 dogs and 2 cats and I must say that in treating them I've learned a lot that is transferable to treating my patients. With animals there is no placebo factor so I see immediately the effect of the herbs. I bring my registered therapy dog to my office and often this prompts my patients to ask me for help in treating their own animals. I'm happy to suggest simple therapies and dietary changes and then refer them to a holistic vet for more complicated issues. The benefit is that they can often see the immediate effects of an appropriate diet and simple supplements. I treat the whole patient which sometimes includes helping them to get proper care for their family pets. That said - I've found the information provided to be very helpful. Mary Chamberlain, L.Ac. Guest guest
Hi Mary, Paul, Phil & list members, I think that maybe the way to go about this issue is to keep our mind open [ & as a good parachute = they both work best when they are opened -) ] and it means that it will be eventually a % issue, if about 3-5% of the general emails will be about animals = we can stand it (maybe at the first few wks it will be a bit more because of the " new subject " ), but if it will be more-like 10% and more - we have to cut down on it, and eventually to shift to another stage. So, myself - I am open for questions-answers, but at the same token keep my eyes on % as well as open to instructions by the moderator. How do you feel about this suggestion? Sagiv.
