I was able to talk with the person I heard that expression from, and

it seems it is a personal reflection, that alludes to a more usual

grounded but mixed syndrome presentation.

The first symptom is palpitations, with possible degrees of insomnia,

sadness, fatigue, due to deficient heart yin/blood and shen disturbance,

where Tian Wang Bu Xin Dan, and Suan Zao Ren Tang are combined and

tailored, and modified with the next group.

The second accompanying symptom is dampnes or watery phlegm, most

likely, if visible, in the lower jiao, or where tongue and pulse signs

display its presence, presenting possibly as hypothyroidism, or low

body temperature, edema, low back and/or knee pain, due to kidney qi

and yang deficiency with kidney qi hua dysfunction, where something

based on Ji Shen Shen Qi Wan and Zen Wu Tang is given too. The

acupuncture points selected could many, depending.

So this a more clinically terrestrial line of thought than where I

was going with it, but boy I like that pregnant phrase. Sometimes it is

like what came first, the chicken or the egg, mind or organ

dysfunction, but where the mind goes, the body may soon follow.

An interesting link from another list was passed on so I'll just leave

it here too, while somewhat on the topic.
