Hi Pete and all,

Almost ten years ago I was trying to be excited by a

similar breakthrough (also in Canada)...but nothing

dramatic has as yet come of it. These things proceed

slowly (and often the " benefit " we derive from them

are no more than stop-gaps). I apologise for my

cynicism.

So I feel that we are still playing the waiting game.

Have we, as a modern culture, actually experienced

_any_ dramatic breakthroughs, " Cures " ? The closest

that comes to mind would be infectious diseases, but

now there are resurgences, so that is a qualified

cure. But how about other stuff?
