Hi all,

Anyone have knowledge relating to the diabetes

treatments, ostensibly TCM, cited in the following?

A patient with relatively mild diabetes type II

asked me about something found on the internet, at:

Further through google searching:

http://chinese-school.netfirms.com/reviews/diamaxol-ingredients.html

" According to the manufacturer of Diamaxol, a

partial list of Diamaxol ingredients include:

Banaba, Guggle (Guggul), Bitter Melon, Licorice

extract, Cinnamon herb powder, Gymnema Sylvestre,

Yarrow, Cayenne, Juniper Berries, Huckleberry, Vanadyl Sulfate

The manufacturer of Diamaxol also claims that

" Diamaxol™'s Safe Ingredients Have Been Used By

Millions Of People Over Thousands Of Years. "

Investigating other links, this looks like an

organization (Los Angeles Chinese Learning

Center) operating out of China, from or with

close cooperation of the government.

And at:

http://chinese-school.netfirms.com/news-article-diabetes-causes.html

" Euonymus alatus, a Chinese medicine used in

China for the treatments of diabetes, has shown

to stimulate the beta cells of diabetes-induced

rabbits, and lower their glucose levels. This

was first discovered in a laboratory experiment

in Japan in 1968 [Chemistry Abstract. 70:18809a:

Antidiabetic effect of sodium oxalacetate.

Yoshikawa, Kiyohiko. Iwaki Kyoritsu Hosp., Iwaki,

Japan. Tohoku Journal of Experimental Medicine

(1968), 96 127-41] and then re-confirmed its

effects on dogs in several other experiments

subsequently. Clinical studies on Euonymus

alatus show that it has glucose-lowing effects on human diabetes patients.

Currently, the only commercial product that

contains Euonymus alatus is " Dia~Naturale " (also

known as Yu Xiao San 8805). People who are

interested in more information about it can read
