Guest guest
Dear Colleagues.. I'm a fairly new Acupuncture and TCM practitioner residing and practicing in Jakarta,Indonesia. Currently I'm running my own Holistic Care clinic which is located near to an International school which has classes for children with Autism.I started to open this clinic about 6 months and it's been progressing very well fastly. Recently the school principal asked me to do acupuncture for the student, I honestly m not really confident because I never had a special workshop in treating children with autism, but I think I couldn't just let this opportunity( to learn & have experience) to pass me by. - I need your helps to get more informations regarding acupuncture treatment for children with Autism and ADHD. - Do you have any experience in treating children using laser acupuncture, could laser replace needles since mostly children I think are afraid of needles I would really appreciate your kindness to share your knowledge and experience to me Million Thanks, dr.Kania
Guest guest
I have not had the pleasure of working autistic kids yet, I would love to hear about your experience, success/failure and common diagnosis with these kids. Guest guest
Dr Kania: Hats off to you for working in a clinic in Jakarta. My operation here in LaPlata, Maryland (hometown USA) seems to pale in comparison. The 5 needle ear protocol is great for calming effects and controlling any kind of addiction. You may want to google NADA, Michael Smilth for more information on this. Children may not be so fond of this treatment, so you might have to ease them into it. Ear seeds or little metal balls on the ear points. A practitioner once used a laser on my son who was around 6 or 7. It seemed to work. She was using a metal probe before that and it definitely worked. Tuning forks would also be good for kids. Lately, I have been using cuppling with my son who is now 13. It has some real calming effects also. I am not an expert on any of these, so I hope others will also chime in. Guest guest
Thanks, Actually mostly the people here only know that Acupuncture works best for losing weight, it's difficult to get the people understand that Acupuncture treats many diseases.I made a flyer which gives informations about the problems that can be treated by Acupuncture according to WHO ( I found this information from WHO website) and it works, people started to call me asking about how acupuncture could treat their problem. I have tried to put the ear seeds on the ear points today, thanks for the idea.I agree that needle is not comfortable for children, but I don't think that using laser is easy either. How many minutes we should point the probe to each ear point? Could you give me more information about the cupping method that you have been using? Thank you very much, Kania anne.crowley wrote: Dr Kania: Hats off to you for working in a clinic in Jakarta. Guest guest
Kania: You can just put the probe on the point for as long as you and the patient are comfortable. Hold a dispersing intention. Also the little metal pellets would be good to send them off with. Cupping - I use a plastic cupping set that has a pump, that I got from Oriental Medical Supplies, LASA OMS in Massachusetts. You can look up some information on cupping. There is a book by Arya Neilsen on GuaSha ISBN 0-443-05181-X (which is similar) and one on cupping by Ilkay Chirali ISBN 0-443-06038-X. Keep up the good work.
