Also any studies/books on the tx of axillary disorders often seen with eating disorders including but not limited to: depression, anxiety, IBS, constipation, headaches, OCD, insomnia, borderline personality d/o, gastrointestinal distress, PTSD, etc. I am currently working on an argument to integrate into a hospital-based eating disorders program. The only article I found online was by Norman Kraft and it was several years old then. I don't know if anything has been done more recently. I would just look for research on the specific disorders (IBS, anxiety, etc.) Most of the women I worked with found acupuncture very helpful, particularly in reducing anxiety, and easing digestive problems, as well as helping them feel more connected to their bodies. Bodywork is so important in working with EDs. You might contact Mirasol and see if they have been doing any research. They have continued to integrate TCM into their program.
