Hi Avishay!

Points for Profit is quite good. Honora Lee Wolfe of Blue Poppy. A good deal

of the advice is specific to the US, however.

I assume you mean to practice in Israel, forget it in the US unless you have a

LOT of money and can live without income for many years. Medicare Acupuncture

bill could change this, but has been stalled in congress for 13 years.

In a related matter, can anyone recommend some good cheap (preferably free?)

filemaker pro templates for practice management and patient data?

Pete,

A bit pessimistic there don't you think? Complementary care,

acupuncture in particular is extremely profitable, and the notion that

one needs " a LOT of money " is simply untrue. I know of, as i just

simply think of it, three practitioners who are making six figure

incomes, one who uses acupuncture alone (often profit is gained

through herbs and supplements). In my experience, it is simply a

matter of creativity and extroversion, how you live your life in

general. It is tremendously easy to get caught up in a lack frame of

mind, but in the end the only requirement of a good practice is

whatever it takes to make it happen. Those who make it happen are

successful, period. There are many many people who are doing extremely

well in our profession in the states, globally as well.

Avishay, you will be successful wherever you go, follow your dreams.

Hi Dr. Philip!

Been working on a web app to do essentially that for 11 years but it is not,

and won't be, filemaker pro. I will have it up before I die.

Now why does it have to be free, are you a non-profit? We have been

contemplating a financial model for the effort and one of the considerations

is fair compensation.

Hi Tym!

Say, you don't work at one of the schools, now, do you? Bet you didn't

read " Points for Practice " , c'mon, fess up . . .

I never tell the truth about this dirty little secret that someone doesn't

come along and tell me I'm wrong, or worse. Is there any chance that you are

seeing your three people who are actually the super-salesmen? They might also

be careful and methodical physicians. Yeah, they might . . .

Where are you? What it takes to make it happen here is a LOT of money. There

is one guy in town who is successful. He started some 15 years ago with the

help of a (retired MD) angel. The paintings in his waiting room alone are

worth a fortune and it goes up from there. If you are scratching for the

rent, and you will be if you don't have it, my advice is valid. Bring money.

Hi Dr. Philip!

Imagine a website that collects your clinic records, produces your reports,

fills out your superbill and compiles research. What is that worth? How long

does it take as it is, and what is that time worth?

Since the data is on the web, you don't have to lug a laptop around, just

remember your password.
