Guest guest
If someone has a TCMV to recommend in New York City, please post to the list (or email the info directly to me). This is something I'm frequently asked about, but don't know of anyone to recommend. Many thanks, Sarah Rivkin, MS, LAc, Dipl. Guest guest
Chinese Medicine , " Sarah Rivkin " <saydit wrote: > Dear Sarah or Phil: My advice is to work on the dog yourself. That's how I learned. I'm licensed to work on people but a vet took me under her wing. She taught me about animal problems and let me apply human principles to animals. Now I work for her as well - at her huge Florida clinic under her license and her legal protection. This is legal - her husband who runs the clinic is a lawyer. Having a close affiliation and working on site only protects you from veterinarians trying to " shut you down. " Anyway, I started two years ago not knowing a heck of a lot. There are lots of books on the market for veterinary acupuncture. The anatomy is similar to ours but... you have to be able to " feel " the points, so you can't be one of those acupuncture " techs " who does cook book acupuncture, which is the way the most veterinarians perform acupuncture. I think human trained acupuncturists work with animals much more competently. If you can find a vet who does Veterinary Orthopedic Manipulation (VOM) with a chiropractic mallet, that's going to help your dog alot. Lumbar 2,3,4 affect the knee. Guest guest
There is a vet who does acupuncture and herbology out on Long Island. I've never had the opportunity to use him, but everyone I know raves about him. His name is Dr. Wen and he's at the Hampton Veterinary Hospital, 176 Montauk Highway, Speonk, Ny 11972. His phone number is 631-325-1611. A number of people have told me that he literally saved their pets' lives. Hope this helps. Peace, Elizabeth Casey, L.Ac.
