I use it often in horses, with excellent results, especially in bilateral spinal pain. However, I use it rarely in humans. I had heard that it can be a very sensitive point in humans and should be used sparingly. Just now, however, I decided to test that idea on myself. I needled my own GV26, using a plastic guide-tube with heavy pressure on the point before tapping in the needle. It was no problem. Now I will use it more often in people!! I also have heard that. I have occasionally used it, and the patient never seemed to mind! Usually for some indication other than pain, however.
