Guest guest
Can someone answer a question about tongue diagnoses please. Tongue is pale and puffy with a rim around perimeter giving appearance it is thin but it is really puffy. It is the rim appearance that I can't find anywhere. The rest of tongue is greasy with yellow coating in back, red prickles on tip. thanks, Clarissa (Acupuncture student)
Guest guest
Hi Clarissa, >Tongue is pale and puffy with a rim around perimeter giving appearance it is >thin but it is really puffy. > Is the rim without coating? Puffy tongue for me says Spleen Qi Deficiency. >The rest of tongue is greasy with yellow coating in back, red prickles on tip. > Damp Heat? Guest guest
Is it possible this is a rim of scalloping? Does it look like the puffiness of the tongue has pushed thru the teeth in a thin rim? Scallops indicate a condition of swollen tongue that is so chronic the pressure of the tongue on teeth has re-shaped it.
