Guest guest
I have found that liver qi stagnation tends to play a major part in cervical displasia. In one of Bob Flaws books, " Free and Easy " (a collection of essays really, focused around Liver Qi Stag. and Xiao Yao San) He discusses the aetiology and pathology of cervical displasia. I remember it being quite useful and interesting. Another way to look at the aetiology of cervical displasia (according to maciocia) is young girls having regular intercourse at an early age and damaging the chong and mai. And external damp invasion can also play a part in the formation of cervical displasia. In terms of blood stagnation, if you see symptoms and signs of blood stasis then differentiate accordingly, but otherwise, I feel that blood stasis would be further down the track, (say CIN 3 and further stages) found with the development of abdominal masses, and doesnt necessarily have to be a part of the diagnosis. regards, Lea. Guest guest
I don't think you can look at cervical dysplasia this way, c.d.=so and so tcm pattern. Through the eyes of TCM, we are looking at the entire patient who walks through the door, not just cervical dysplasia. There are many different TCM patterns that can lead to cancer cells and cell irregularity. I think you need to look at all of the signs your patient presents, and decide from there. I have found in things like cervical dysplasia, there is alway a mix of deficiency and xs (of course this is true with most any disease!) As a practitioner, you need to look at what is more prevalent, and go from there. def qi, blood, yin, yang? xs damp, plegm, qi/blood, etc? And in cervical dyysplasia, also look at history of sexual abuse/ discomfort with feminine/willingness to express sexuality/comfort and safety in her sexuality. Important component. Hope this helps! austin, MS, LAc Chinese Medicine , " rtsz " <cityvet wrote: > > what is cervical dysplasia in tcm?- is it a Qi & blood stasis in the > uterus/cervix? liver qi stagnation leading to blood stasis in the > lower burner? or both? > would Ge Xia Zhu Yu Tang be useful for this? > any other treatment recommendations? > thanks. >
