Autoimmune Lung Disease

I am currently treating a 62 yo gentleman who has been diagnosed

with an autoimmune lung disease in 2002, he refers to it as Lung

Vasculitis. He is coughing up blood and mucous. He is currently

taking 10 mg prednisone and bacterium. He has a history of allergies

and asthma and uses an albuterol inhaler. His condition was in

remission for 1 year 2 years ago. The vasculitis seem to be

aggravated by seasonal allergies, heat and stress. He has been

seeing me for 6 acupuncture treatments over 3 weeks and we are

seeing his condition stabilize but not improve, he is still coughing

up small amounts of blood. Originally his tongue had a very red

tongue body, thick, greasy, yellow mossy coating, the tip was red

with no coating. His pulse was full, rapid and slightly slippery.

We were seeing improvement with his treatments until he triggered an

allergic reaction this weekend. On the last treatment, his tongue

was still very red but the coating has changed to a white less-

greasy mossy coating.

His bowel movements occur 2 times a day, they are solid and sticky.

He states that he is feeling cooler and he looks much less red. His

sleep is fair and his urine is hotter than he remembers. Overall I

believe that he is improving. Does anyone have any suggestions for

herbal treatments or any other treatments that have been

successful.

Any suggestions are welcome.
