Guest guest
Replying to the digest version sure makes for some fun reading ;-). Sorry for the repeat stuff. Forgot about the slippery elm - such a great healing herb! There are so many different forms of Essiac out, and Pau D'arco would certainly be a good addition. Guest guest
> Essiac is a combination of Sheep Sorrel, Burdock Root, Turkey Rhubarb Root > Powder and Slippery Elm Inner Bark Powder. > Whole I agree that essiac can be of benefit for some people with excess constitutions, it is not beneficial for people who have a cold constitution or who are deficient. Burdock can actually aggravate some people, and warmer liver herbs like yellow dock or turmeric would be a better choice for them. I am not too fond of formulas that are given accross the board recommendations like this one- and marketed as a panacea. It is true that the herbs in the formula can benefit some people, this is not a formula for everyone. It is a cold formula, energetically. I once knew a vegetarian mother who gave this to her children daily. They were always sick and had black circles under their eyes- they were deficient! They would have been better off drinking a chai made with warming, tonic herbs. Also, this formula can be made with high quality organically grown or chemical free herbs locally wildcrafted or from a quality herb source or grower. Local herbs are always best, in my opinion. They have a special affinity for people who live near them , in my experience. Guest guest
Hi, I have a patient diagnosed with Melanoma and secondaries. I have heard that an old North American Indian remedy called Essiac has had some good results. Does anyone have any experience of using Essiac? Also do you have any other suggestions? Any help would be gratefully appreciated. Thanks, Val
