Guest guest
Hi all, I thought I'd give you an update, since many of you offered such thoughtful advice on the case I presented about a week ago. After reading through all your comments, experience and advice, I thought long about what approach I believed would be best at this time for my patient. I didn't want to radically alter anything since we had gotten some good results in the beginning and it was important in the long term to find out what exactly it was that works for her and what doesn't. I re-questioned her regarding her diet and satisfied myself that she had tried the elimination diet on at least two occasions and also the diet that many of you recommended from the book. I re-emphasized to her that no matter how wonderful she was feeling at any given time, that strenuous exercise was not indicated and would most likely exacerbate her condition. I upped her dosage of the Mycoforte, as I have found it to be a profound immuno-regulator, asked her to cut out peanuts and peanut related products as that was the only food she was eating that was a red flag. We continued the acupuncture protocol I had outlined in the first message. She stopped the excessive bleeding within two days of the upped dosage and most recent acupuncture treatment. The discharge from her rectum became more grey (what the doctors say is normal) and much less. No more cramping or bloody discharge during the night. For her periodic feelings of fatigue, I asked her to take PerformaForte - a modified mycoherb formula with San Qi & Tian Qi - on a symptomatic basis to augment the Mycoforte. She is climbing, hiking, and feeling both physically and emotionally much better. She is very excited with the results since she hasn't had this kind of remission since she was diagnosed 6 years ago. I expect relapses, since this is an ongoing condition that we will need to manage for many years to come, but I will feel positive about the treatment outcome if we can get her longer remission periods and milder relapses. I now feel confidant in attributing her most recent extreme relapse to the vigorous running and the week off of the mycoforte. It's a good start, and I will keep all your messages on hand and continue to consult with them in the future. Thank you to everyone who responded, Nadia Nadia E.
