Guest guest
Hi all - I've been snared (through a patient with a whiplash injury) by the insurance industry, which I've assiduously avoided. Now I need to know what CPT (?) code to submit with the bills. (The insurance co doesn't seem to know; how confident am I of being paid?) I saw the pnt 2x/wk for roughly 12 weeks, straight up acupuncture - no electro, no herbs, no cupping, just needles. Thanks for your help, all you daring souls who have decided to join that dance. Karen ps the patient has fully recovered; outcome still uncertain for the practitioner... ;-) Karen R. Guest guest
this is great, thanks so much. Do you only charge for 15 min treatments? Eg: 1st visit: 97810 first 15 min - intake? or is this the check-in for every visit? 97811 nest 15 min - begin treatment/insert needles then what? I saw this patient for 45 min - 1 hr (needles in and 'cooking' for at least 45 min) and the codes for the subsequent 23 treatments are... Barbara, I think I'll accept your offer to send me an example bill; you can do off list if you like. Karen
Guest guest
Karen, I've used the same codes over and over for all the visits. You would have one 97810 and three 97811 for each hour visit, or two 97811 for 45 min. Christopher Vedeler L.Ac., C.Ht. Oasis Acupuncture http://www.oasisacupuncture.com 8233 N. Guest guest
Hi, I use 723.1 Cervicalgia for all neck related pain. I work with a medical billing company and never had a problem with that code. We also bill for moxa, tui na etc. and have started to get paid for some of them. Elie
