Is anyone familiar with either of these schools in

Florida?

In Sarasota: http://www.ewcollege.org/aboutewc.htm

Or

In Fort Lauderdale: http://www.atom.edu/service.htm

I'm currently going to a school in Minnesota, but I'm

looking for a scenery change. My current school is

great...great courses and instructors, but I'm getting

tired of living in cold places. Anybody have thoughts

about living in either of these places or the quality

of these schools?

Thanks

Hi Igneous!

Sarasota school is quite nice, used to be a restaurant! Sarasota is

beautiful as well. Bring a lot of money, though.

Dear " S " :

I'm enrolled at The Florida College of Integrative Medicine, in

Orlando Florida.

The school is growing by leaps and bounds right now. A Phd program

is developing (in additional to the Masters program in Oriental

Medicine, and Bachelors in Health, currently awarded), a medicinal

herbal research grant has just been awarded (and a series of

greenhouses are being built), and various projects in conjunction

with WHO are in progress.

The school is currently small and cozey nonetheless, very

personal. The actual facility is a stone throw from a lake, and

along oak lined streets...it is an hour away from the beaches.

The Admissions Director, Jon Diament, is very pleasant to work with,

as well as Mary Simmons, and really, the entire staff...professional

people, who also make you feel like family.

The clinic is neat as a pin, clean, and well organized. The

pharmacy is well stocked with fresh products, and meticulously

governed.

Also, what I find exciting, is that the school regularly hosts more

extra-curricular seminars and functions relating to TCM and martial

arts, than ANYBODY could get around to attending.

Also, a nice, but modest library exists on the premises.

DOWNFALLS. Unless you are rolling into town with a lot of cash,

and a good job lined up, it is pretty costly to live in Orlando.

Plus, unless you know Orlando WELL, there are places you just DON'T

want to move into (such as Pine Hills, aka " Crime Hills " ). This is

why I stay in Ormond Beach...I spend money commuting, but I have a

safe, quiet, and relatively affordable place to return to.

Expenses are relative...you might think that living close to the

school saves in gas; but you are also paying more in car insurance

by having an Orlando zip code, and more in rent...so, it eventually

evens out. If you want to know more, send me an email, I'll help

as much as I can.

Best,
