Atopic eczema is also associated with hypochlorhydria and excessive

calcium intake, so these factors should be further investigated. Also,

cigarette smoke / nicotine can be a factor in some skin conditions,

especially seborrheic dermatitis, and is sometimes overlooked as an

irritant. Avoid sulphate containing soaps and shampoos, sodium lauryl

and laureth sulphates tend to be a common cause of exacerbation.
