Guest guest
I have not personally tried the nigari yet but am ordering some this week. Everyone I know has either put it in their bath water to soak in, and then I'm assuming it is diluted enough not to have to rinse off, or done foot soaks or rubbed/sprayed it on their body which then does get rinsed off as it is sticky. If you buy regular mag oil it does get very sticky--but I just don't know for sure if the nigari made up into liquid does or not. I will ask my friend who uses nigari all the time and report back. Guest guest
I asked my friend about rinsing it off and here's his reply. >Hi Bob. I have mentioned nigari on a list and someone just wrote and asked me if it HAD to be rinsed off. < No it doesn't have to be rinsed off, that's a personal preference. > I know that mag oil is sticky, and have assumed that nigari made to liquid is the same way. Perhaps not? < To make nigari into mag oil, all you do is simply mix one part of nigari to 2-4 parts water, as you prefer. It will be sticky and may even burn on some areas. > After a bath soak, do you rinse it off or just dry like you would after a regular bath? < I take a shower first, then do the soak, one cup or one/two fistfuls nigari in a full tub of water, then either lightly pat dry or stand in front of a fan if it's not too cold. > And have you ever just rubbed it on your body? < Mag Oil, yes, and my outer thighs are my preferred place for not itching or burning. Maybe my shoulders too but that's about all. > I know you did foot soaks for a while--did you need to rinse your feet after? < At a dilution of 1/4 to 1/3 cup nigari in 2 gallons water, no, no rinsing needed. I'm trying to always tell people, always get JAPANESE nigari. Google "Mitoku Bitterns" and you'll get what I use, or go to: http://www.naturalimport.com/shop_for_nigari
