My child has autism. While this burns me up to NO END that he said this stuff, I just want to say that he is doing this for sensationalism, and I won't feed into that. To be honest, he said what many people actually think. THAT is what angers me. But, I also realize these things are said out of ignorance. People don't understand when they see children throwing fits in the stores that a lot of times that child could have a reason why, not that they're spoiled. I never knew this, either, until I had Tim. It was a real wake-up call on being judgmental, let me tell you. I only hope someday this moron will run across a loved one who has autism, and realize that it's not the parent's fault, or the child's fault for being spoiled. Yes, they do need to be taught how to act, but that road is much longer and bumpier for a child on the spectrum, and it takes A LOT of patience, and knowing when to discipline and when not to. If there's anyone reading this who hasn't lived with autism,

and has thought the same thing Savage does and I used to, please understand. You cannot know the world that my family lives in until you're faced with it. Also, if anyone is interested in learning about our world, I'm always happy to educate. I even wrote a LONG presentation that I gave at my church to educate others.
