Guest guest
I got mine from Wolf Creek as below--I think it is the cheapest fro quantity and quality. Good folks. BUT wear a mask (and pets too)---it will cut your lungs the same way it cuts parasites if inhaled.!!! Guest guest
http://www.perma-guard.com/ This place has De that you apply topically on animals. I have been considering ordering this. We live in the middle of the mountains and fleas and especially ticks take over here. Frontline does not work anymore here. I know it is too toxic for my dogs just by ther way they act when they see me put on gloves. They run and hide. Thanks to the person who posted the info on it, Kat - elan_spire Thursday, June 19, 2008 2:02 PM [!! Guest guest
Thanks for the responses. I'd better get some ordered before flea season strikes in earnest. I am concerned somewhat about using the diatomaceous earth on my long-haired cat. She is bound to ingest some of it while grooming and the othe cat also. Perhaps if I can just use it on the carpets I'll not need to treat the animals themselves. Has anyone actually known an animal to be injured from consuming the stuff?...My favorite toothpowder which I used for over 20 years (and never lost a tooth in that time!) contained DE but of course I didn't swallow it or breathe it either. - -- In , " elan_spire " <elan_spire wrote: > > , " Margaret " > <margaret1307@> wrote: > > > > --Maryjo: I've know for years about the virtues of > > diatomaceous earth which is readily available in large > > quantities where pool supplies are sold. Food grade diatomaceous earth can be safely consumed by cats with no problem whatsoever, so please don't worry about your cat grooming herself or the other cat after having been dusted with it. Some people even put DE into their cats' food to help keep internal parasites at bay. As long as you're using food grade DE, your cat will be just fine if she ingests some. elan
Guest guest
I have found that when i put a little garlic in my cat and dogs food it keeps the fleas away, also if you sprinkle a little on the animal it helps too. I dont know what it does, If it makes them taste yucky or what but it works. Also a trick my aunt taught me who works at a kennel is that if you take dawn {has to be dawn} dish soap and put some rubbing alcohol in it and use it as a flea bath it keeps the fleas and ticks away too. That works excellent also. Hope this helps, if you have any other questions about it you can email me directly at shannonlorrainesmith Shannon:)----- Original Message ----elan_spire <elan_spire Sent: Friday, June 20, 2008 11:00:47 PM Re: diatomaceous earth (was flea and tick...) , "Margaret"<margaret1307 wrote:>> Thanks for the responses.
