Guest guest
Every since I was little I've gotten huge sore canker sores in my mouth. I get at least a new one every week. They sometimes get to be the size of a dime. The only time I never get them is when I'm pregnant, but unfortunately remaining pregnant for my entire life isn't possible I've tried pretty much every supplement under the sun to try and prevent them and nothing is helping. I've talked to my MD, dentist, nutritionalist, dermatologist about it and they all have no clue. I've been reading about an acid/alkaline imbalance and I'm wondering if a 100% alkaline food based diet for a while would help, then introduce 20ish% of acidic foods back into the diet afterwards would help. Any ideas? I'm desperate. I had to call in for two shifts of work because I couldn't talk because my mouth hurt so bad.

Guest guest
I don't have canker sores, but I do have trouble with sores on my tongue and at the corners of my mouth. I found that if I take one zinc and one L-lysine a day I can keep them under control. Hope that helps! , " Angela " <angelahadaustinoct1 wrote: > > Every since I was little I've gotten huge sore canker sores in my > mouth. I get at least a new one every week. Guest guest
I had cold sores and canker sores when I was a kid also, and thought I had kind of out grown it. Later I started getting them again, and the zinc and L-lysine helps to heal them up quick. I could always feel one coming on, and would start taking the zinc and L-lysine right away, and usually it would go away before it got full blown. I changed jobs and then I quite getting them, so I thought maybe it was the stress of the first job. Then a couple of years later I found some lip stick in one of my purses that I had not used since I was at the old job, it had been a favorite of mine, and wore it a lot. I put some on, and I could feel the heat of the cold sore right away. I started checking into what was in the lip stick some months later, and found that it contained lead. The end result was that I think the lead in the lip stick was causing mine. That has been several years ago, and I have not had any since. The zinc and L-lysine will help control them, but there must be something that is causing them. The lip stick that I was using was a name brand, and I found that many name brands still have lead in them. I found that many of the make up and beauty products that are available at stores have a lot harmful things in them. Hope this helps. Annie I believe that lipsticks, at least some of them, are high in ARGININE, which is antagonistic to Lysine and can set off the sores. Chocolate can also. Monolaurin from coconut oil is also good to suppress viruses. jp
Guest guest
Aspartame always triggers a herpes (canker sore) outbreak. Check your foods for aspartame.
