Guest guest
Ann, I just found this on another site, so me thinks Arbonne is not very natural, like you are led to believe - - - We reviewed several Arbonne cleansers and lotions and found numerous harmful ingredients in them. Here are a few examples... Arbonne International Cleansing Gel - 3rd ingredient listed is Sodium Lauryl Sulfate. For those unfamiliar with Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (or SLS), it is a common lathering agent found in many shampoos and body washes. It is also well-known in the scientific community as a common skin irritant. It is rapidly absorbed and retained in the eyes, brain, heart and liver, which may result in harmful long-term effects. For more on SLS check out 5 chemical to avoid. Aromassentials Awaken Bath and Shower Gel - 2nd ingredient listed is Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate. 12th ingredient is Methylparaben. Arbonne International Facial Scrub - last ingredients listed are Methylparaben and Propylparaben. Parabens are used as inhibitors of microbial growth and to extend shelf life of products. Widely used even though they are known to be toxic. Parabens have caused many allergic reactions and skin rashes. Methylparaben combines benzoic acid with the methyl group of chemicals. Highly toxic. Arbonne International Body Lotion - 12th ingredient is Propylparaben, last ingredients are Triethanolamine (a chemical with carcinogenic potential that may also irritate the skin and mucous membranes) and Methylparaben. Aromassentials Awaken Body Lotion - last ingredients are Propylparaben and Methylparaben. Mandarin Body whip - ingredients include Triethanolamine, Propylparaben and Methylparaben. It is our opinion that the Arbonne products reviewed and other Arbonne cleansers and lotions not be ranked in the category of " pure, safe and natural " . Guest guest
My father was a college chemistry professor for over 45 years. His favorite saying in regards to necessary preservatives etc. was always the same. He'd say "you'd have to eat 984720 gallons of it in one day for it to cause you serious effects". If you think Arbonne has huge amounts of these ingredients in their products (which they don't - the amounts are very small), then please tell me a health & wellness company, and a beauty line, and a skin care line, and a sun care line, which does not contain any single ingredient such as those you mentioned. For all I know, the only thing left would be a home made avocado oatmeal facial mask that you mash up in your kitchen yourself. And the shelf life is 20 minutes. No thanks, I'll stick with the products that people have been using for over 27 years with no ill effects. Sorry, I'm a believer in the Arbonne products. Nothing will ever change my mind. But I want to make this perfectly clear - I have no problem with anyone who says they don't like Arbonne. Not any one company's products are going to be right for every person. I use other products too, in addition to my Arbonne stuff - like Chanel's day moisturizer in their Precision line - it comes in a square jar and smells like apricot - there's no SPF in it and I hate SPF in day cremes anyway. This creme is HEAVEN and I love it so much I could care less what's in it. I just don't care for Arbonne's day creme, because it has SPF in it. I also am a huge fan of MAC eye shadow and their lipstick. In my opinion, no one will ever beat them on the quality of those products. But their is something to be said for me losing weight and feeling like a million bucks after struggling with god knows how many ailments all my life - I began Arbonne's detox program and I'm like a new person. Their vitamins leave me feeling invigorated! So, to each his own.... I like forums where we can say our opinions. I hope I have said mine in a tactful way. I would never want to offend anyone. I'm just a lover of Arbonne products and I can't help telling everyone I know how great they are. Guest guest
Anne as you say each to their own....... I personally don't use manufactured skin care preparations........ natural coconut oil at night, rubbed in, is sufficient for me....... Guest guest
Hi Claire, I know someone else who does this and has great results with it I tried it but it was too rich for me. But the woman I know who uses it has gorgeous skin!! Also, I know another lady who rubs hormone cream on her face. Weird, but she also has perfect skin. I get complimented almost every day on my skin, so like you said, we can all agree: to each their own. The beauty of these forums is that we get to share with everyone what works for us. I appreciate hearing from you. I still don't think it's right for people to go around claiming Arbonne to be "full of chemicals" - nothing could be further from the truth. Just putting that out there.... Where is Tassie?? Ann. Guest guest
I second that. Water, apple cider vinegar and organic coconut oil work wonders for me. I also use a drop of superior grade essential oils. I went to an Arbonne party and when I looked at the ingredients in one of the products, it contained two things that I always look for. Polypropolene Glycol and Laurel/Laureth Sulfate. That sealed the deal for me. I won't use it. , " Clares Primus " <mcharris wrote: > > Anne as you say each to their own....... > I personally don't use manufactured skin care preparations........ > natural coconut oil at night, rubbed in, is sufficient for me....... > Plain, no added chemicals, no added fragrances....... just right........ > > Cheer's from Clare in Tassie >
