I didn't bother to watch the video.....But, no - I don't know if she

belongs to a cult.........she is, however, pushing something she believes

in. On the whole, Chritians are very uncomfortable with her new beliefs,

because they run contrary to what most of them believe.......But,

Christians aren't the only group who are concerned about some of the

things she's saying - there are a number of others....

I think people, including, myself, think someone like her can be very

dangerous because they have a lot of power - not only in the monetary

sense, but also in convincing people that what she believes is

correct......I don't actually know much about her new found

" religion. " I've just heard a lot about it from both sides -

people who like it, and people who don't.

One of the the things that concerns me about her, is she has, on a number

of occasions believed what someone has written, or said - without

checking it out. She is a media personality, and I feel people like her

have a responsibility to check things out. She's got ample staff to do

that. But, she's like a lot of people, if something hits her emotionally,

or agrees with her POV, she goes with it. Without checking the

facts......And, in the case that related to this post, the

" man " who is supposedly pregnant - she has never once mentioned

the fact that this " man " is actually a transgendered

woman...........there is a huge difference in a biological man getting

pregnant, and a woman, who has altered herself getting

pregnant...........

Even though she knows - and I have not a shred of doubt she does - that

there is a real difference, she blithely ignores it for whatever reasons.

Before you know it, people are going to be saying men can get pregnant.

They know it's true - because just look at this guy who was on

Oprah........As a journalist, she has a responsibility to get the truth

out - the whole truth. Not some fabricated or twisted version of it that

happens to be PC or fit whatever bias she may have.........

I mentioned " A million tiny pieces? " It was a book written by

some guy, who detailed parts of his supposed life. His drug use,

jail-time, encounters with people - it was all very dramatic, and

people just ate it up, especially after Oprah had him on her show and

fawned all over him. She believed what he said, hook, line and sinker.

Turned out, there was very little truth to what he had either said or

written. Oprah was very embarrassed and had to publicly address her

error, and some of the things she'd said.

I find anyone who has the kind of power she does frightening - even if

they happen to believe what I believe. I don't necessary think people are

born into a belief system. They usually develop that as they grow.

Sometimes it's what their parents believed, sometimes it's not. But Tolle

isn't any more enlightened than a lot of other people or groups. What

he's saying, isn't even new........it's been around a long time. He's

just saying it right now in a language people understand and/or are drawn

to.

Maybe you need to watch Oprah, read her stuff, listen to what she says,

and be knowledgeable on the things she does before you make a judgement

on whether what she's doing is scary or not.....or whether she's a great

person or not.

Great post, David!

I watched the video a few days back, I don't know who it was put out by,

but I couldn't understand

what the fuss was all about! Why would they think Oprah was part of a

cult? Linked to Obama?

I guess I didn't understand the whole thing, but then I don't watch

Oprah!

We were all born and raised in our own belief system, it is the ones who

have awoken that

understand Eckhart Tolle and what he is saying!

Peace to you and have a great NOW!

Toni

I am in China, and don't watch TV anyway, yet I still hear some

things

about Oprah

The last I heard was that she had Eckhart Tolle as a guest. Now I

would be very surprised if anyone had any mud to sling at Eckhart

Tolle. His over-all message of " The Power of Here and Now " is

extremely difficult to argue with.

Now, we know that Oprah is an astute woman, and that she is never

going to invite a guest with whom she doesn't have similar vibrations.

So we can assume that she is on her way to vibrating in a similar way

to Eckhart Tolle. We can also assume that she isn't as free to do what

she might really like to do, because she has to answer to her

controllers.

We all express our truth in different ways, and we all interpret other

truths in different ways. Take any truth about God, for example.

Before we can make an assessment regarding true or false, we have to

understand our own truth about God. We all have a different

understanding

The word God has been used in so many different contexts, that no two

people have the same idea. I therefore think her idea is to try to

eliminate the word god, in order to eliminate the misunderstanding.

I believe that I not able to readily contact anything more subtle than

what I call my highest self. This is as big as my mind is capable of

going. I know that there is the rest of infinity out there, but I have

accepted that it is beyond my grasp.

This gives me the great benefit of being able to cease the

never-ending search for a while, and to take a rest, and to look

around, and smell the flowers, and begin to appreciate what Eckart

Tolle is telling us all. His ideas of God are well worth a listen,

or

read and for sure Oprah has listened to it, if not read it. Echart's

books are available as audio books, read by himself.).

Please be careful when you use terms like New Age claptrap.

This is also another very misunderstood term. We all have our own idea

of what New Age means.

But about some of it there is little doubt. The foundatios of the

so-called new-age movement are the writings from or ancient sages of

several thousand years ago, and they, more than anything else we may

discuss, have stood the test of time.

I was lucky to be introduced gently to the ancient Hindu

understanding, as enhanced by the ideas of the Yogis, through a series

of books by Yogi Ramacharaka.I have some of them on my website as

follows. (If anyone would like an e-mailed copy then please let me

know. I haven't yet worked out how to include a download facility (or

search) in my website).

The books were written in the early 1900s, and are now free of

copyright, and available as free downloads from Gutenberg press and

other places.

The following works by Yogi Ramacharaka are available on this site

We would recommend reading them, in the following order:

The Hindu-Yogi Science of Breath -A Complete Manual of The Oriental

Breathing Philosphy of

Physical,

Mental, Psychic and Spiritual Development.

Fourteen lessons in Yogi Philosophy and Oriental Occultism

Hatha Yoga -The Yogi Philosophy of Physical Well-Being

A Series of Lessons in Raja Yoga - The Yoga of the Mind - Psychic

Healing

The Kybalion - A Study of the Hermetic Philosophy of Ancient Greece

and Egypt

A Series of Lessons in Gnani Yoga (The Yoga of Wisdom.)

Advanced Course in Yogi Philosophy and Oriental Occultism

Having got the advert out of the way, I would like to summarise by

saying that I agree that Oprah is a very powerful woman, and I

believe that she is the best hope that we have got.

Incredibly few of the main media presenters are awake yet, but they

are telling us what to do. Who in their right mind is going to listen

to the ramblings of someone who is asleep?

Love and light

David
