Curious to know if anyone here with Gluten Sensitivity gets iddy bitty tiny little pinpoint itchy blisters.

I get them (only a few here and there) from time to time.... and never sufficient that I could go to my Doc and say - look at these...... but the darn things get so itchy.... but I have discovered that when they first appear..... IF - I rub them with Miracle 11 neutralising gel.... it takes the itch away and they heal faster. Just wish I knew if they were really related to Gluten Sensitivity.....

Doc did down throat AND up the other end check a few years ago said I DID NOT HAVE and problems, but if g/f works they eat that way - so I do.

Hi Clare,

You might want to also put organic virgin coconut oil on your blisters. I have a client with severe eczema and he uses this by my request and his skin is coming back beautifully. I'd give it a try. Merry

I used to get tiny blisters - but only on my hands and mainly on my fingers.

They didn't itch though but were painful upon touch.

They used to last for a couple days and now I am sorry that I never contacted a MD because I don't know what the medical opinion is.

I have been gluten free for a couple of years now and I have only had a one time short return of the blisters.

So I think they are gluten related but I am not 100% sure.

My 2 cents.

Hi Clare,

Thanks for looking around & for being a curious person in the first place:)))

My blisters didn't look like any of these.

Maybe blisters isn't the right word for what I had - it were more like small bumps with a kind of wheel in the middle. There was no fluid inside.

I got them every few months and after a number of days they were gone.

At that time I had never even heard of gluten or imagined that food is the cause of so much that goes wrong in our body.

BTW do you know supplements that are supposed to help with gluten digestion:

Trienza, Gluten Ease, Gluten Digest...

(I am in Europe so I cannot go and simply go and buy them and give them a try.

Next time when in I'll be in the States I am going to give them a try.)

I suppose that if you are simply a little sensitive to gluten they should be useful to prevent the effect of hidden gluten in foods or drink.

I can second what Merry wrote re: coconut oil.

Whenever we have a problem with our skin we put some coconut oil on it and it heals quickly.

Last week hubby even put some in his nose with a Q-tip and it worked great.

As you have a curious nature I want to ask something else.

Both hubby and I had very oily hair until we went gluten free.

Is this your experience too?

Last week we started taking some sublingual B12 and now our hair seems to be even less oily.

Maybe it is all just a coincidence but I am always trying to learn and see connections.

To our good health,

Yannic

Hi,

I had the itchy bumps problem due to gluten intolerance. I finally got rid of them by stopping eating food with Iodine in them for about 4-6 months and they completely went away. I am back on Iodine food but do not eat the gluten.

If I remember correctly eating foods with Iodine causes any remaining gluten in your bodies cells to be aggrevated thus causing the dermititis hepiforma (Spelling?--I usually just type DH). Once I stopped consuming Iodine it allowed my body to finally clear out all the gluten in my system. Once it was gone it didn't matter if I ate the Iodine; there was nothing for it to react with.

When I had the DH the itching drove me nuts!

I suppose it were the gluten because I used to have them every few months and since I went GF only once in 3 or 4 yrs time.

When I had them I never saw a link whatsoever with anything.

If only I hadn't been over 50 y.o. before discovering that I was gluten sensitive since my childhood.

Clares,

Is it all possible that you may have come into contact with anything like

poison, ivy, poison oak or anything like that.? One can catch it from a

dog or cat who has rubbed against it. Also, one can get it from someone

else's clothes. That stuff is so strong, they found some at a site that

was at least a 1,000 years old. Don't remember exactly where, but saw or

read something on that a long time ago. The biggest thing that stuck with

me, was how virulent the stuff can be, and could be - even after all that

time. I think it was found in a mummy's tomb, but I wouldn't swear to

it.

Anyway, if you think it might even be a possibility, apple cider vinegar,

mixed with a bit of water will cure it. Just apply it a couple times a

day, and if it's anything like that, it'll be gone within a few days. Has

worked every time for me - even on really bad cases, where the site was

begun to ooze and weep.

Potassium Permanganate (also known as horses "purple medicine") Potash cures Poison Oak or Ivy. Get it from the vet. Put it on your skin and it turns your skin black -- but that's the last of the Oak or Ivy. Be sure and have a fan blowing on you when you put it on the spots that are seeping, because it does burn for a little bit. My doctor told me (way back in the 60's) that this was the only thing that would CURE this.

I was allergic to poison ivy into my teenage years but I am not any more, at least I haven't had an out break in years.

Still, I will keep the treatments in my thoughts, just in case.

There have been so many posts about " itchy thingies " that I have

forgotten who even asked the original question. I have had itchy

things on my hands too, found that the antibacterial hand soap was a

major factor. I changed over to green products, and the hand soaps

and antibacterial soaps that I am now using do not cause the itchy

thingies. Once in the while I will get them if I have washed my hands

at some place that uses the regular antibacterial soaps. Used to have

red rash under my rings before I changed too.

Well, that is what helped me, maybe it will help someone else.
