who hasn't realized this, is naive. I find it strange that there would

even be a debate on this issue. Sure, there are guidelines which are

usually in place for, at most, a couple of years. Propietary information,

secret stuff and all that. And most people follow them. Because if

it's found out they haven't, they can go to jail, plus, they will have to

pay a hefty fine. Plus, they will lose their job. Do some people violate

these guidelines? Sure. But, they need to be slick about it, because

using the wrong type of information, may get you somewhere in the short

run, but they may pay in the long run.

would really like to read all your posts, but they are so difficult for

me, much of the time, I simply can't. Is your caps Lock stuck on

over are ready to retire from their government jobs. So, the private

sector sees them as valuable assets, because they know all the ins and

outs of whatever area they have been doing.

In many areas, in the U.S. government and private sector work hand in

hand - after all, it's usually the private sector who builds the rockets,

installs the computers, writes the software - stuff like that. Although I

haven't personally worked with the FDA, many of the folks there would

have a lot of contact with people in the drug companies - it only stands

to reason.....On a smaller level, it's sort of like a local Planning

Commision - they enforce whatever laws there are, but constantly work

with builders, etc. When I was a reporter, I noticed sometimes some of

the people in the Planning Commision had lost sight of the of picture, or

of what the people actually wanted, or what really good for the community

in the long run. Sometimes they got so involved with a particular builder

and/or project, it was almost like it was their own. I know a lot of

people don't like reporters - I don't like some of them myself. But, I

think in certain situations, whether the people involved like it or not,

a reporter can serve as sort of proctor. It's a lot more difficult to do

something against the rules, or do something wrong when you're being

watched - especially by someone who is going to tell everyone what you're

doing....

That is how it is in US......but

not here, very seldom is any upper-level government going in to the

private sector and vice versa. All people in the state, have lived their

whole life in the state, and if they have been in the government, and

want to leave, they get a job in EU or UN or in some semi government

organization. A lot of state people is leftist, they consider the private

sector as the devil.
