I gave both my whippet girls a UTI from too much carrot pulp, it's loaded with natural sugars and didn't agree with the urinary tract. Had I mixed it with meat I doubt it would have caused this problem. Just wanted to share my experience. Also, I use cranberries during season in their food, then freeze bags of them with seal-a-meal (sucks out all the air) stays fresh much longer this way. I wouldn't be without this little gadget. I've stored things for up to 2 years with the air removed from the storage bag. I doubt that long is recommended, we probably lose nutrients but as long as the product is not freezer burned it should be fine. All my best to all of you.
