Guest guest Posted June 11, 2006 Report Share Posted June 11, 2006 *Sprouts* Preparing Sprouts can be one of the easiest and least expensive ways to add Veg. Protein and Vitamins and Minerals. The Seeds for sprouting can be purchased in either a Health Food Store or in Supermarket. Seeds best for sprouting; *Alfafa Seeds; Mung Beans; Lentils; Adukzi-Beans Sun-flower Seeds etc.* Put Seeds in Sieve and Rinse well under Cold Water; set aside to drain. Take any Glass Jar; such as Mayonaise or Pickle. The large Fruit Salad Jars are the best. Wash Jar in Hot Soapy Water Rinse well in hot H20. Pour a small amount of water in Jar; add Seeds; Cover for few hours. Strain Seeds into Sieve from Jar; Rinse with Cold Water; rinse Jar. Pour rinsed soaked Seeds back into Jar; do not add more Water. Set Jar in a Cool dark place with cheese cloth and rubber band on top. In 24 hours the Seed begin to Sprout; Rinse seeds 1 or 2 times daily. When the Spouts are 1 " or longer Harvest by Rinsing under Cold H20. Tip: After Seeds begin to Sprout place Jar in Sun to develop leaves. Add Spruts to Salads Soups Sandwiches.
