Hiya,

I went to the doc this week for the first time in at least 3 years. I went to get my foot x-rayed after twisting my ankle real bad and fearing I buggered up a previous injury. The doc spent maybe 6 seconds looking at my foot, declared it a sprain and then spent 10 minutes trying to get me to get a tetanus shot and make an appointment for a pap test. I refused both. I used to get yearly exams before I quit going to the doctor and now I'm wondering if it's really important to do so. Does anyone have any input on this? I don't know if pap tests are truly helpful or not.

Thanks

Well, Krys, a pap smear detected the beginning stages of cervical cancer in

me in 1974. So to me, they are very important. I am very grateful for the

test.

Oh boy do I! lol...Seriously! I went 7 years without a pap, had one, then was told I needed to see a specialist as I had High grade pre cancerous cervical dysplasia, which comes from HPV a virus that I think comes to us in different way's, but still can kill you how ever you got it.

I was set up for surgery after having biopsies, and had it done, and a dnc just to be sure, and was in and out in a matter of 4 1/2 hours or so! And Medicaid covers it!

Please any woman, and you, please always have a yearly pap done...I was told years ago that once you hit a certain age and a certain amount of good results that you can skip a few...NOT! I am proof!

Please take care and God be with you

Well since this topic has come up.....does anyone know what can be done

or any herbal preventative used to help prevent cervical cancer and or to fight

off any viruses such as HPV?

Important topic.......

Thanks!

Hey Krys,

Personally I avoid the medical world unless I need access to their

tests then I do my own thing. Are you taking anything to help heal

your ankle? Arnica montana either in homeopathic form or in a cream is

great for healing traumatic injuries like a sprain and swelling

associated with them.

I had a pap 5 years ago because a new doc was bugging me so much about

it I just gave in. Look at that analogy - I get bugged to let a

stranger put foreign objects inside me - in any other context that is

sexual assault. That was the first pap I had since my kids were born

20 years ago, and it will be my last.

Are they beneficial? As some here said, yes. I think it all depends

on your consciousness and state of health. The medical world is based

on fear - so have all these invasive tests just to make sure everything

is ok. But if we are mentally and physically clean, continually

cleanse, use appropriate supplements, and all that, then they may not

be necessary. We know our body, we live it and with a

strong immune system under those conditions, should be able to identify

or heal things before they get that bad.

Krys,

I consider Pap Smears an invasion of the body. They can cause

irritation which can lead to future problems.

If there was something wrong how would you take care of it?

Naturally or cutting away at your body? Why not develop a healthy

lifestyle (if you haven't already)that would deter any problems?

As a cancer survivor I would have to strongly disagree. I got lucky - I

found that small lump in my neck. I had 2 needle biopsies and was told

I would need surgery to be able to know if was benign. Pretty invasive

I'd say. But I went for it. Good thing I did. I was diagnosed with a

very aggressive cancer - Large B Cell Lymphoma - Stage 4 and was given

about 3 months to live. I used every kind of treatment available to

help me beat it - natural and otherwise. You never know what you'll do

until it's you that's facing certain death.

I consider myself lucky that I had a sign - the lump. Cervical cancer

does not usually give any signs and it is very hard to beat! So go for

the irritation. Ok, I give, maybe that little scrape they do on you

causes a little irritation - but, I still say better to be alive.

I'm sorry to hear about your view on this...there is no way for you to know whether or not the cells in your uterus/vagina/cervix have changed,,,,how to take care of cancer? cut it out! WOULD you knowingly leave that inside you to fester your life away? And of coarse it is an invasion to every responsible woman. And sex causes more problems for a woman than a pap does.

I truly hope you re think your feelings about paps for your own sake, and the others whom read your post. No matter how healthy, or how you eat, no one is immune to this.

Wow, I am surprised to see this

type of advice here!

Guys, please do some research. Break free from the brainwashing we've

all been subjected to.

Every single person has cancer (abnormal cells) several times in their

life. You just don't know about it most of the time. The body deals

with it quickly and quietly. If we're over-toxic then we cannot deal

with it and it grows. What should we do then? Detoxify the body! Get it

cleaned up so it can do its job.

Personally I haven't had a pap in over 13 years, and I don't plan to

have one ever again. Same thing with mammograms. I have uterine and

breast fibroids and no amount of testing helped them. Taking care of

myself the way I should is what's helping.

Our bodies are perfectly capable of healing themselves if

we provide the tools. Finding out what those tools are is more

essential than any of the millions of tests doctors tell us we *need*.

I had precancerous cells on a PAP test many years ago, had a colscopy(sp) to scrape off the cells. The doctor hurt and I requested the nurse who was SO much better. That happened to be a male doctor and I now use a female doctor, but some of them are horrors too. After the precancer cells (STD); I had a checkup every six months for a few years. Now I have been putting off my PAP and better get it soon for peace of mind, not worried that the precancer has come back, but what is this about a new test for cervical cancer, a vaccine or something. It's not reliable on its own or so my general doctor told me. PAP's are something that I think we should endure. I sneak in baby oil with me. They always ask for a urine sample first. k.Karly Gray <karly.gray wrote: I'm sorry to hear about your view on this...there is no way for you to know whether or not the cells in your uterus/vagina/cervix have changed,,,,how to take care of cancer? cut it out! I believe that pap tests are important. Even if you perfer to use

natual healing methods, its important to exactly what you are

dealing with. And since vaginal cancer is cause by a virus(hpv)

being tested is the only way to find out.

I'd hate for everyone to get heated over this, but it seems like some

are. And understandably so. The word Cancer has become a tool for fear

in all too many Americans. I think it really does depend on your stand

in life and the way you choose to live it over all. If you subject

yourself to a way of life enviting to cancer and other terrible

infections, then yes, maybe a pap is good for you.

I was dragged through the mud with my doctors, while they scared the

crap out of me for months, after being told I " MAY " have pre-cancerous

cells, then I was told I may have endometriosis, then I was told yes,

maybe it was cancer, then again something else... I was finally

convinced to get surgery, which would have removed my ovaries, but

then I lost my insurance and was suddenly " ok " . Kinda spells it out,

doesn't it? Was it about me, really, or about $$$? I refer to that

phase in my life as the " curse of the insurance card " . That was when I

chose to become responsible for my own body and walk away from the

medicos completely. Around the same time, my grandfather was diagnosed

with cancer (had been 100% healthy his whole life but they " caught it "

in a check up) and a year later died because of all the " Treatment " ,

along with a list of other diseases and conditions he never had before

his " diagnosis " .. So as much as the cancer and pre-cancer survivors

have good reason to tell you to go, and I DO fully understand why, I

too have good reason to tell you not to. SOOO... I think the answer

truly only lies in KNOWING yourself, your body and WHAT IS RIGHT FOR

YOU. I have every respect for those LUCKY enough to get through a

diagnosis with the medicos. But I do personally believe all we have

done is open a floodgate for the people making the $$$ off all of it

and allowed fear to herd us like cows into a slaughterhouse. (Ok...

that was harsh... lol... but it's true!)

I have my opinions, and obviously many others do as well. I think it

has got to be what you know in your heart to be right. There are just

as many success stories from people who did NOT go to the Doctors,

rather, took responsibility for their own lives and made necessary

strides and changes. Generally, if you feel you need to get yearly

pap's, then maybe you should. All I would suggest is that you really

assess what they may try to tell you, versus what you KNOW about your

own body. Anyway, lol that's my two cents I guess... I just hate

seeing people fight... you're all beautiful!!!

Love and Blessings,

~Raaven

--- Hi Krys,

I think the important thing is family history, are you on birth

control (I am assuming not), and if you have been promiscuous. These

are usually the " lifestyle choices " that make having a yearly pap

smear more important.

There is no " right " answer to this question since there are " horror "

stories (cancer, pre-cancerous), and " safe " stories. You need to do

what you think is best.

Years ago, when I was young, I took birth control pills (before I

signed off of them for life), and I had a pap twice a year with

never any problems.

I had a pap in 1983 before I found I was pregnant for my son, one in

1995, and one in 2000. Haven't had one since. I will probably go

soon to have one. I have never had any " off " tests. I know this

isn't all sure-fired, 100% " safe " , but I do not like to be " invaded "

on a yearly basis. I will have one in the next year, though, since I

have waited quite some time.

It doesn't matter what others have had done, go by your own

conscience.

Good Luck!

Lori

I do not agree with radiation, chemotherapy or surgical removal of

cancer. There are natural ways to deal with cancer as with every

other health problem. Do some research. Everyone is entitled to her

own opinion. I gave mine. You do not need to agree with it.

Just leave it inside of you? Of course not. There are environments

cancer thrives in and there are environments it cannot live in. Get

rid of it naturally so it will not come back elsewhere in your body

and get your body healthy so it can fight illnesses like it is

supposed to. I'm saying educate yourself!

I have seen too many friends and relatives die at the hands of

doctors over this issue to ever back down from my stance. I have seen

the doctor's route. I have seen the natural route. I know what

choice I would make.

The old pap- " smears " did have false positive results.

The new thin prep pap tests actually centifuge the cells

and can be tested for HPV which is the virus causing

warts.

The thin prep has given women better results and with

less further testing.

With the old papsmears women would have to undergo a colposocpy as the

next step in a positive result papsmear for abnormal cells.

With the thin prep women are not having to do that next step unless

the rare chance the hpv testing off the papsmear comes back positive.

We still have to be responsible for our own health.

My motivation is this, which the moderators might kick me out for?

But My Late Mother would have only lived for 2 months with her brain cancer, and that was WITh rad & Chemo ( Dr's words )

Well I wont take cant for an answer so I DID go naturally AND rad & chemo and she lived happy and healthy, never even caught a cold for 1 1/2 years.

Her brain tumor was the size of a grapefruit, pressing on her motor skills...If we left it she would have died in those 2 and 1/2 month time limit.

I used both methods together and met with a very happy medium, as well as the rest of my family.

I didn't expect this to become controversy!

GROUP RULES:

9. This list is Naturopathic and deals with all natural remedies and

Nutrition only. Allopathic medical treatment and psychiatric

treatment are extremely destructive to the health of human beings and

promotion or discussion of such is OT (off topic). However, how to

handle the destructive results of such treatment using natural methods

is definitely ON topic.

*******************************

I copied this from the files, and was wondering if anyone else thinks

the topic of pap tests has become pretty off topic? It's just an

inquiry, but it seems to me that the purpose for this message board is

to AVOID the medico hype? Even when dealing with the taboo " C " word?

I completely respect other's opinions when it comes to these matters,

but things seem to be getting hot... and I just want to see peace and

love again! We're all here because we believe, unanimously (Supposed

to be anyway) that natural remedies and nutrition is the best way to

live! Isn't that why Doc has offered us this safe haven to live, love,

and learn?

I absolutely love this Group. And I understand everyone has their

opinions... but SOME of these opinions seem to now be invading the

general essence of this place. Not to mention breaching the guidelines

we were all told about, and agreed to, when we stumbled on this

blessing of a Group :) Can we maybe cool it down a little? I don't

mean to offend, but I feel I have been offended, since I am fighting

every day for a better world where we can all live in our differences,

EDUCATE ourselves by UNlearning what we have had branded into our

brains, and not have to succumb to the way things are now... this

including CANCER, doctors, etc. Remember the Einstein quote: " The only

thing that interferes with my learning is my education " ... I think

that those who have their firm convictions on believing in the

medico's... whether OB's or otherwise... is fine, for you, if you

choose to maintain that one way of thinking without even hearing or

learning any other way... but that's not why we're here. Initially I

did not think this would carry on for so long, but now it's getting a

bit rough. And not taking responsibility for your own body, no matter

HOW you do so... is a cop out, and there IS a better way. Period. You

just have to be willing to learn and change. I don't think telling

someone to " Cop out " by going to " traditional doctors " and believing

what they tell you without educating your SELF is good advice, at

least not HERE.

I apologize if this was inapropriate... I was just hoping maybe we

could get back to sharing and learning from one another? :o) You are

ALL beautiful! And I am SO thankful for this place! Lets get back to

the good stuff :o)

Love and Blessings ALWAYS!

Preface: There is a " Treatment " for Cervical Cancer and that is:

Folic-Acid also known as Folate also called Folican.

All you have to know is this:

*Folic-Acid is another word for FOLIAGE ACID.

All this means is: WHEREEVER YOU SEE FOLIAGE OR GREEN LEAVES YOU SEE

FOLIC-ACID KNOWN AS FOLATE OR FOLICAN.

The best answer for Cervical Abnormalites is *Folic-Acid pills;

either prescription or over the counter.

That and begin to Juice Greens every day and eats lots of Salads.

Hi: First on Pap Smears: I understand people's concern about *Pap-

Smears*. I thouhgt maybe the histoy of Pap-Smears may help some.

It was Dr. Papallomius(sp.?) who " invented the Pap-smear " ;here is why:

Dr. Papllomuius's Daughter was diagnosed with *Cervical Cancer*

AFTER it was too far gone to get into remission. So Dr. Pap...said to

himself: " If I had only diagnosed my daughter's Cervical condition

earlier my daughter might be alive today.

With that in mind; Dr. Papallomuus " invented the PapSmear " which is a

non-invasive test that detects abnormal or cancer cells BEFORE

they " spread " .

Not only that but Cervival Cancer is the most easily " cured " .

So if there was ever a way to beat Cervical Cancer; catching it early

would be the best bet.

Doctors and Scientists belive that Cervical Cancer is caused by the

*Papillomius Virus* which is correleated with *Cervical problems " .

(The Papillomius Virus was named after Dr. Papillomius).

My opinion is: *FOLIC ACID* CAN PREVENT WARTS OF THE PAPALLOMIUS.

The body continutely rebuilds itself all the cells are constantly

rebuilding replensishing so the whole KEY to Natural Healing is:

*GIVE YOUR BODY THE NUTRIENTS IT NEEDS TO RE-BUILD Health;like Folic*.

Hi,

I don't have an issue with being tested by the medical world to know

exactly what you are dealing then treating it naturally. However,

often enough, especially recently with me, much of what we are sick

with does not fit into the medical paradigm and testing doesn't show

much.

I didn't know vaginal cancer was caused by a virus, its not

surprising though. There are some excellent researchers, such as Hulda

Clark and Royal Rife, that showed that each disease is related to a

very specific virus, bacteria, parasite, and such - and have devised

treatment protocols based on that. I think the bigger question, as was

posted earlier, is what suppressed the immune system so that it was not

able to handle it before it got to the point of a disease. That is

exactly what the immune system is designed to do.

So yes, there can be testing to regularly see is something is wrong,

but also by supplements, herbs, nutrition, cleansing we can keep our

immune system in stronger condition to ideally prevent it from

happening.

And I believe Robyn asked about herbal preventatives for cancer. In

natural medicine there are many treatments for cancer - and using some

of these regularly may prevent it, depending on the rest of our

mind/body health. Things such as taheebo tea, the original essiac tea,

and chaparrel tea are used to treat cancer, and regularly drinking and

cleansing with these herbs can maintain and nourish the body.

There are also many natural antivirals - such as colloidal silver which

was discussed.

I believe that pap tests are important. Even if you perfer to use natual healing methods, its important to exactly what you are dealing with. And since vaginal cancer is cause by a virus(hpv) being tested is the only way to find out.

Hiya,

I went to the doc this week for the first time in at least 3

years. I don't know if pap tests are truly helpful or not

Dear Raaven,

Not inappropriate at all.

Your points are very valid and the reason for my latest wrist slapping.

This list IS about Natural Methods.

I appreciate your concern and attempt to keep things on topic.

In Health and Love,
