Guest guest
(Sorry about including the whole message, it won't seem to let me delete part!) Thank-you!! How do I grind black walnut hulls to a powder? I have a WhisperMill grain mill. Would they destroy it? I don't exactly want to experiment on expensive equipment to find out I also have a GreenStar juicer, which claims to grind grain, but my experience in my attempts to do so have been a flop (juicer jammed about a tablespoon in). There is no need to peel the cloves if you don't want to as you'll be straining the mixture through a cloth to get the final TT tincture. As far as the Black Walnuts Hulls are concerned, you want to collect the hull immediately after they fall on the ground. Store them in a cool dry place until they turn completely black and hard. Then break 'em up and powder them. You should then make a tinture out of them using alcohol and then add to the rest of the TT mixture. You can also take it separately from the rest of the TT which is made in ACV, if you prefer this approach. (That is my big time consumer.) It sure would be quick & simple if I could chuck the cloves in the blender with the peels on!Also, has anyone ever used black walnut hulls when making it at home? how do you go about it? A friend has a black walnut tree, so if I knew what to do I could get them for free. Thanks!Tyrie

Guest guest
*** How do I grind black walnut hulls to a powder? I have a WhisperMill grain mill. Would they destroy it? Tyrie *** Do you have a coffee bean grinder? I use that for tough stuff, you can pick one up for about $10 at Cosco or Wal-Mart and it works slick for tough things. I'm speaking of the little one that has the blade in the middle with a cap that goes over the beans when they are in place. Also a food processor will work for this. I would never use my juicer. It's tough, but has jammed on carrots before and is so frustrating when this happens. I tend to pamper my expensive appliances. Tough stuff calls for tough measures. I hope this helps. Love and light. Micki
Guest guest
I use my dry powder Vita-Mix Blender. Does a great job. This will do the trick.
