Thanks, Lynn Lynn, According to my book " Dr. Chi's Guide to Fingernail & tongue Diagnosis " White spots on the fingernails of men, women and children may have to do with kidney and hormonal imbalances. Zinc & Calcium deficiencies are also possible. In children and adolescents, this may be due to developmental changes or hormonal changes that occur in the normal growth stages.
