Guest guest
I'm new to the list but I do know that we all used Bay Leaf Tea when babies had colic. Put a few bay leaves in some water and steep it for a short time. Strain it and put it in the baby's bottle. This is an old Italian remedy for colic and it does soothe the baby's tummy. Guest guest
Is she breast feeding? If she is, she should cut out all dairy, obvious and hidden, and see if that makes a difference. She'd have to do it for at least three weeks, sometimes even up to eight weeks to see progress, but she might be able to tell in a few days, too. There are other things that it could be, but dairy is the best starting point. If she is using artificial baby milk, it is usually dairy based. There are some that are soy based, and there is one (which is only available by prescription and very expensive) which is pretty much corn based. There are recipes for homemade artificial baby milk, and I have some if this is the case. You should switch ABM the same way you switch cat's food (75% old ABM, 25% new ABM for a few days; 50% old ABM, 50% new ABM for a few days; 25% old ABM, 75% new ABM for a few days; then 100% new ABM). Any other questions, just ask away. I'm a food sensitivity/allergy buff. Guest guest
When my son was a baby, he was colicie. We would take a half of a regular onion and boil it for about ten minutes, (don't start timing until it starts to boil), we would strain the water from the onion and mix a little honey into the water, let it cool, and then gave it to him in a bottle. In just a few minutes he would calm down and fall back to sleep. We put enough water with the onion, to where we had two bottles. About 4 Oz per bottle. It worked really good. Guest guest
YES!!! I remember doing this same thing with my first son(almost 18 yrs ago). He was horribly colicky(sp) and nothing seemed to help him. This onion tonic as we called it really helped! You really triggered my memory with this one ) Makes me feel old too.....LOL We also used a little sugar to sweeten it enough that he would drink it. Funny how onion tonic could help my son with colic and now onions give him really bad gas! LOL Good luck and know this will pass quickly. Guest guest
Chamomile tea works well too... 1 t. / 8 oz water, give 2 oz per serving. Helps for a sleep aide too, though for adults you can make it stronger.

Guest guest
1 quart goat milk 1 cup Rapadura sugar (unrefined, has all molasses, vitamins in it- can be purchased at Wild Oats, etc.) two cups water (one pint) 1 tsp cod liver oil 1/4 tsp liquid folic acid from Kirkman (infant vitamin drops can be used instead) (I suggest baby acidophilus (if milk is pasturized) and baby isn't breastfeeding either, at least until yogurt can be given at 6 months) This is Dr. Ed's recipe, very easy to make, and then it can be frozen in glass (canning) jars to keep it super fresh. ****************************************************** Here is a link for a couple types of ABM. http://www.mercola.com/2005/oct/11/healthy_alternative_to_conventional_infant_fo\ rmula_part_1.htm -OR- http://tinyurl.com/dr7ld It's nine pages long though, but has lots of Q and A's and testimonials. It's also based on Weston A. Guest guest
check into the mothers nutrition (if she is breastfeeding).  warmed cumin oil belly massage or warm chamomile compresses (unless its a heat condition) can work miracles  acupuncture (not more than 1 or two points per session). (i was taught to needle babies not longer than 2,3 minutes.) choose pts according to symptoms and pulse presentation (childrens pulse dx is usually very easy and clear:excess?heat?liver:heat or stagnation or wind?kidney def.?..)  good luck.  rebekka ettlin Sie sind Spam leid?
