Guest guest
I am looking for some healthy homemade cookie recipes. I am tired of spending a fortune for healthy cookies at the healthfood store. Does anyone have any recipes. Preferably kid tested and with unbleached flour. My kids love peanut butter, oats, chocolate chip, etc. Thank you in advance. Guest guest
Carob Chip Cookies 3/4 c. honey 1/2 c. oil 1 tsp. salt 1/2 c. vanilla soy milk 3/4 c. walnuts, chopped (optional) 1 c. carob chips (you can substitute whatever chip you want) 2 c. regular oats 2 c. oat flour or whole wheat flour (for oat flour, blend 2 c. oats in blender) If using regular milk, add 1 Tbs. vanilla extract Beat first 4 ingredients in one bowl. Mix dry ingredients in another bowl. Combine liquid & dry. Stir together well. Let sit for 15 minutes. Drop by spoonfuls onto oiled cookie sheet. Flatten slightly and shape. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 - 25 minutes. Yield: approx. 38 cookies. We made this as a wedding cake in a heart shaped pan and frostinged it. Had a store bought cake for relatives who insisted on it. Everyone - kids included - preferred this cake! Using an oiled 9 x 9 pan bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. (Original recipe from Country Life Vegetarian Cookbook. They have a lot of good cookie recipes, as does Of These Ye May Freely Eat, by JoAnn Rachor.) Vicki sharon_love73 <sharon_love73 wrote: I am looking for some healthy homemade cookie recipes. Guest guest
Want good cookies, with no hydrogenated oils? Look for 'Matts' Cookies' that are available in most chain grocery stores, they are usually in a red and white checkered cellophane package, their chocolate chip and fig bars, -Yummy! -- In herbal remedies , " sharon_love73 " <sharon_love73 wrote: > > I am looking for some healthy homemade cookie recipes. Sharon, I have 3 girls 8, 5, and 4 and there absolute favorite cookie is one called MR. Bill cookies. Actually since I have my Whole Foods Cuisine cookbook out, my youngest has just asked me if we are making them! Anyway, they are a gingerbread cookie, but not so hard they break your teeth, but not too chewy either and really earthy tasting, but not bland. So here it is: Combine 5 cups whole wheat flour, 1 tsp baking soda, 1 tsp baking powder, 1/2 tsp nutmeg, 1 tsp cinnamon and 1 & 1/2 tsp ground ginger in a large bowl. In another bowl, combine 1/4 C oil, 1/4 C melted butter, 1/2 C honey, 1 C molasses and 1/4 C milk. Pour wet into dry and mix with a wooden spoon till it forms a stiff dough, or knead if easier. Now, the recipe in the book says to chill 1 hr, roll out and cut, BUT, I have never done that. I take the soft dough, pinch off a hunk, roll it into a ball and sort of flatten it out and bake on a lightly oiled baking sheet( you can put them close together) and bake at 375 10 min. Makes about 60. Enjoy!!! I have served these at our homeschool co-op (29 kids) and have never seen a kid who didn't love them! Jesse

Guest guest
Hi Sharon, Congrats on the weight loss - I really believe a change in diet and lifestyle is the onlly way to loose weight and maintain the loss. I can eat pretty much whatever I want, keeping amounts within moderation, and remain at 130lb. (I am 5'11 so this is quite slim). I swear by eating everything natural, including butter, sugar etc. If I eat any food, even low fat/calorie with lots of chemicals in the weight piles on. A great biscuit recipe (quantities are guess work) 1lb plain flour, 6oz butter, 8oz sugar, 2 eggs. Cream the butter and sugar, beat the eggs and fold in with the flour. Yhis is a basic maix and you can add choc chips, desicated coconut, vanilla essesnce, ground ginger, cinamon, etc etc. I'd be interested in any other recipes though,,,,,,,, Thanks, Kate. >-- Original Message -- ><herbal remedies > > " sharon_love73 " <sharon_love73 >Thu, 18 May 2006 13:33:07 -0400 >Herbal Remedies - healthy cookie recipes >herbal remedies > > >I am looking for some healthy homemade cookie recipes.
