Guest guest
Molds and Colds If you have a cold or the flu, avoid grain products if you can during this time. You will get over it much sooner if you do. That means no bread, no crackers, no oats, no cereal, no rice, no cookies, no pasta. They contain molds that “gag” or preoccupy the white blood cells while bacteria and viruses thrive. Starve a cold and feed a fever is not too far from the truth. But do eat other things if you are hungry. Avoid cheese (mold) and uncooked dairy products (bacteria), and fermented foods. No vinegar. Eggs, potatoes, meat, fruit, and vegetables are fine. Boiled milk with cinnamon. Homemade chicken broth made with half an onion and without MSG helps. A salad with dressing made of fresh lemon juice and oil. The garlic will help, but stick to this diet while you are sick. If it is available, 2 to 3 drops of Hyssop oil in 1 cup of herbal tea 3 times a day will help congested lungs, pneumonia, and bronchitis.
