I just got diagnosed about a week ago and they got me on this medication that is making me very tired, not to say I wasn't fatigue before but more so now. I just checked my sugar and it was 297. Is there any herbal that works well for diabetes. They have me on Metformin HCI . Thanks and look forward to hearing back from anyone that has some information or suggestions..

Thanks,

Ralph

On another list I am on they have been talking about weight loss and

diabetes. They were talking about taking two teaspoons of cinnamon a

day for it. Mix it with water, juice or even coffee.

I competely agree, especially if it is type 2 diabetes - this can usually

be controlled with diet and exercise alone but eating all that ice cream

will cause loads of problems.

Herbs won't work if your lifestyle is very poor.....and if your eating half

a gallon of ice cream in 2 days your diet is poor!

I'm not sure about herbals for diabetes. My son has diabetes and we

control it with diet alone. He eats very little if any sugar. He eats

only whole grain breads and cereals, a lot of veggies and some fruits

that don't cause major spikes in blood sugar. You may want to try a low

glycemic diet which actually helps you to understand the foods which

will raise your blood sugar and the foods which don't. My son still

eats ice-cream but the low fat sugar free stuff and he can still have

other sweet treats as long as they are sugar free, like pudding or

maybe a cookie now and then. Read your labels and research the low

glycemic diet! It doesn't starve you and has a lot of great

alternatives for those of you with a sweet tooth. I also make sure he

gets plenty of fiber, water and garlic.
