Hi Kim!

I have had the same problem all my life and I was addicted to Afrin.

Finally found that using a saline solution irrigation many times a

day it will relieve the pressure by loosening the 'gunk' and

washing it out. One ENT (ear, nose, throat MD) did not believe

in antibiotics and 'suprise' recommended this.

I first used a baby syringe and my homemade solution (1/2 tsp sea

or canning salt, do not use table salt, to a 1/2 gallon of distilled

water. Boiled and cooled.). Then I was given a 'NeilMed' 8 oz bottle

which I like best because you can control the quanity and

pressure easily. I am retired and use my own cheap homemade

solution. Therer are many ways to do the irrigation. I just use the

NeilMed bottle several times a day when my sinuses flare up.

Getting rid of the green gunk lets you breathe and reduces swelling.

I have tried adding other ingredients, like Echinacea, cayenne, etc,

and all they accomplished was to create severe pain in my nasal

linings and sinus cavities.

Mine is due to allergies, I believe. Spring has sprung early here, and I am having a horrible time. I am tired of waking up with a full head and nose every morning, and a headache all day. I refuse to take anything to cover up the pain, and drugs to drain because I spend the entire day feeling worse! Please help before this becomes an infection!Kim Smith

does start bothering my sinus' I do hot and cold compresses to

relieve the pressure. Use a wash cloth as hot as you can stand it

over the sinus for 3 minutes. Replace with a cold cloth and ice

cubes for 30 seconds. Repeat with hot & cold several times. The hot

draws blood to the area, the cold drives it away causing good

circulation - repeated regularly, this could keep away a sinus

infection.

hi to all...

ive had allergy symtoms here in the midwest for 7 years now.dust, mold

and now pollen.have had 2 bad sinus infections and several smaller

ones.going to get shots or drops.just wanted to say i too get sinus

pressure and headaches.dont know of much that helps yet.i do know if you

get a sinus infection that wont go away go swimming.dive into the deep

end and go as fast as you can to the bottom of the pool and back to the

surface as fast as you can.this pressure on your head from the outside

and the clorine helps to force the infection out and to open up your

sinuses.tried and tested and it works.

good luck to all who have this unfortunate condition..brett m bonwell

Richard Schulze if you want to look it up on his web page.
