Guest guest
Does anyone have suggestions on how to make the comfrey leaves less prickly? I do crunch them up before putting them on but they still bother me quite a bit. If I put tissues between them and my skin, will that reduce the effect? I have a bad knee injury and am trying to use the fresh comfrey leaves under an ace bandage to help it. I'm also using Arnica gel but this is been going on over a week now and it's not getting better. Perhaps I can use a comfrey salve instead of the fresh leaves??? I haven't tried that for this type of injury. Thanks!!!! Michelle
Guest guest
Have you tried putting them in a food processor? This should work all on its own but a bit of water may help break down the leaves a bit faster. This process is the same as putting the leaves in your mouth and chewing them. Adding a bit of water would have the same effect as your spittle. Hope this helps. rogerscottQ
Using the leaves with their little prickly needles is best. A leaf freshly removed from the plant and simply applied all around the knee. Not severely crushing the leaf, simply folding it up in the hand or fisting it and then applying the leaf on the entire circumference of the knee. No need for water, no need for bandages. Apply it and forget about it and throw the used leaf in the compost. The little needles of the plant are the secret of comfrey, not the green juice.
