Guest guest
Ok I posted about the violet jelly. Well, I didn't have enough to make the jelly, but there was a recipe for violet syrup that didn't call for any special amounts, so I thought I'd give that one a try. It is supposed to be good for cough/cold. Anyhow, it said to steep the violet petals in water for two days, strain then add honey and lemon juice, bring to boil and bottle. When I took out the petals to strain, it smelled pretty nasty, but I proceeded. Now it has been bottled for a couple of days and there is white " fluff " floating on the bottom. My questions are: Do you think this is any good? (still has the same smell) and Do you think the recipe was supposed to say alcohol instead of water? That is what I'm thinking. Thanks for any suggestions. Blessings, Melanie
