Hello everyone, I have been sick for 3 days now. I went to the doctor yesterday, so see if there was anything worse than a flu/cold/sore throat. They didn't seem to think so. It's just viral pharyngitis. Unfortuanately, I've done everything I can think of to treat this...and I'm worse. I'm in so much pain, I can't swallow, I can't talk, I'm coughing up stuff and that is making it worse. And, I have a bit of a fever from time to time. I've upped my vitamin C, I'm drinking pureed papya and mango - I'm drinking Green Tea (decaf), Gypsy Cold Care Tea, and Throat Coat tea. I'm taking echinacea, a multi-vitamin, and I even took Tylenol today, to try and do something to this pain. I really, really don't want to take the tylenol. :( Also, I've been eating very little and doing a liquid diet...I did have some rice with fresh garlic and some chicken broth yesterday. And, I'm

doing Salt water gargles all the time. I'm just miserable. What else can I do? I'm so tempted to go to the Health Center at my university and get antibiotics...but I know that I should be able to treat this without them. I've not been this sick in years and I haven't taken antibiotics in years and years. I was pumped so full of them as a child that I became a bit immune to them. Well, if any of you can help me...I'll be soooo appreciative. Miserable in Ohio, Renée B.

We already did battle with that virus at this Ohio home. It began in the sinuses and then went down into the lungs and then back up into the ears and sinuses again. The headache is a killer.

I found that Oil of Oregano(antiviral) was what finally kicked it. We took 4 to 5 drops under the tongue 3 times a day. We also used it with olive oil for any ear problems. The other thing that was very important was to go to bed and stay there for three days or more.

For the congestion I gave them Hyland's Sinus which is homeopathic and it worked to drain the sinuses. We also appreciated having "Breathe Easy" and "Herba Tussin" which are Traditional Medicinals tea products. They also took Mullein the whole time and maybe that helped - not sure but it didn't hurt. They also drank a lot of other teas with honey for the throat.

After this experience I would never be without Oil of Oregano.

~My 16 year old daughter woke me up at 3:30 am in tears and shaking because her ear hurt so bad. We had been using olive oil in them as a preventative to keep them open but it got out of control when she sneezed and some infection went up into the eustacian tube. I put one drop of Oregano in her ear with three drops of olive oil. Twenty minutes later the pain was gone. By the morning the ear was crackling and we repeated the combined oil treatment twice that day. By the next day her ear was open.

Hugs~

Hi Renee,

From my experience, dairy products and sugar make a sore throat feel

worse, but honey (and lemon) make it feel better.

The dairy is mucous-forming (causing more drainage in the throat),

and I've just recently heard about sugar making a sore throat feel

worse. Honey is a natural demulcent and is very soothing. So keep

doing the teas, but use honey, not sugar. Or if you only drink

unsweet teas, try some honey and lemon in warm water.

Hope that helps a little bit. Get well soon!

P.S. I've just begun using colloidal silver for infections... I

wonder if it would help in your situation...

Hi Renee,

I'm sorry to hear about your pain and wanted to suggest you try docs

total tonic formula also known as Natures Antibiotic here is the

recipe copied from the files.

Total Tonic Formula

1 Handful of Garlic Cloves

1 Handful of chopped Onions

1 Handful of chopped Ginger

1 Handful of chopped Horseradish

1 Handful of Black Walnut Hulls

1/2 handful of chopped Habanero Peppers.

Throw in a blender and cover with an inch or two of Organic Apple

Cider Vinegar.

All ingredients should be ORGANIC, but don't let that stop you from

making this

great formula. You can use the mash right away or wait two weeks and

tincture.

thanks for the info...I'll look into these. And thanks to Jill for telling me about the honey. I do drink unsweet tea, so I've never put honey in it (I don't use sugar, if I can help it, in anything...and I never eat dairy). I'll give that honey a try. So, this tonic...I do actually have all the organic ingredients for this...but, how do i take it and what doses? This may be in the files, so I'm going to check there now. :) thanks! Oh, and I'm allergic to nuts..so no walnuts for me, will that affect the tonic much? Here's to hoping I get better very soon (especially since I have to work 11 hours tomorrow..yuk.) oh thanks...I'll check that out. I've never thought of Oil of Oregano. I love those teas from Traditional Medicinals...they really do help out a lot, I use them all the time. :) I've been in bed for 4 days now...and I have to work 11 hours tomorrow, so hopefully, I'll get through that okay. I don't have much a voice, and I work in a library as a reference librarian...so I'm supposed to talk and teach all day...LOL. That should be very interesting. Thanks!
