Hello all.

I'm intersted in becoming a Naturopathic Doctor and I am hoping someone

could point me in a direction. I don't want to have to move out of my

state (Wisconsin) to study. I've come across the Clayton College and

they have distance learning. Has anyone heard of it? What kind of

reputation have you come across?

Do any of you know other schools for this?

Any information you can give me would be most appreciated.

My background is that I have a Bachelor's Degree (in Political Science)

and I have a Master's Degree in Communications started - haven't

finished that. My calling in my adult life has now become to be a

healer. It was actually something that called me all my life but that

I didn't listen to. I've been studying herbal & integrative medicine

on my own for some time. I'm also a reiki level 2 practicioner.

Thank you, I look forward to your replies!

Hi there,

I am not sure if the regulations are the same where you are but here in Canada, to become a true certified Naturopathic doctor you have to have your bachelor of science and two years premed before you can enter a school of naturopath. We do have some practitioners that claim to be naturopathic doctors because there is no legal requirement except for BC and Ontario. I know this because I am studying right now to become a clinical herbalist, and have thought about expanding to naturopath since I have to take some of their courses anyway but I do not have my bachelor of science.

I hope that you find this information useful, you could also see if you have a naturopathic association in your state or area.

Here is the Canadian one it may have links to one in the states or you could call them for some advice that is what I did.

Have a great day

Federal Law requires that we warn you of the following:

1. Natural methods can sometimes backfire.

2. If you are pregnant, consult your physician before using any natural remedy.

3. The Constitution guarantees you the right to be your own physician and to

prescribe for your own health.

We are not medical doctors although MDs are welcome to post here as long as

they behave themselves.

Any opinions put forth by the list members are exactly that, and any person

following the advice of anyone posting here does so at their own risk.

It is up to you to educate yourself. By accepting advice or products from list members, you are agreeing to

be fully responsible for your own health, and hold the List Owner and members free of any liability.
