Aloha all,

I just joined this group a few days ago and so far am LOVING it. So

much information and love, great stuff.

My question is regarding my fiance who has both high blood pressure

and high cholesterol. He was prescribed medication for both. I

want to get him off this medication and start treating the cause,

not just the symptoms. He has a very high stress job, so I think

this conributes to his problems. He eats very well, and exercises

regularly. Is there anything else he could do? He is a pretty

intense individual, so meditation is difficult for him. Type A

personality, for sure. I created some teas for him, and am trying

to wean him off coffee, but he loves it so!

Another question I have is the fact that diet is not really

addressed here. I know I haven't been on very long, but I see a lot

of recomendations for clenses and such, but what about altering your

diet to never NEED those clenses? Is such a thing possible?

Lee

Hello Lee,

Great idea in theory, but in practice, this Earth is so polluted that even with a perfect diet, you still pick up toxins; they're in the air you breathe even. I know that Doc eats very well - much better than me and most I know, but he still does an annual cleanse. Also, you'll find that by the time people decide to go the natural route, they have a long history of diet abuse, and so need to do a few cleanses to get the body back to a good operating condition. And once the body is in a good condition, and annual cleanse to keep it there is about all it takes. The better your diet, the less you need to detox.

I guess the reason we don't talk much about diet, but the cleanse instead, is that the cleanse includes a proper diet and is part of the instructions, so that you catch both at once so to speak.

Doc has written many articles on various parts of our diet, and his first lecture covers that in detail. You can read his articles in the files of the group's website, and you can listen to his lecture for free on: http://www.AcademyofNaturalHealing.com

The best I can advise for your fiancé is to listen to the lecture, read the articles, and then do the Total Body Cleanse, of course while improving the diet along the way according to the lecture and articles.

Aloha Lee,

That is great

that you are asking these questions. I will give you what has worked for me and

clients. You can take what you want, research some and throw what you

don’t vibrate with away. YES, in my clinical opinion nutrition and

lifestyle is huge when it comes to increased BP, cholesterol, etc. It is not

one system that becomes dysfunctional; it is not by chance something happens,

it is because of something you put in, on, and around your body. Sometimes you

are never even aware of it.

When it

comes to cholesterol, most are afraid. It is actually very important to have in

our body secondary to it keeping the structural integrity of our cells, it is a

precursor to every sexual hormone in the body, it is a fat that our body needs

for bile production and vit D, vital to a child’s development in the

mothers milk, powerful antioxidant… and on and on! Of course I am talking

about healthy ration of HDL to LDL and triglycerides.

For one, most are afraid of having increased cholesterol or of fats

so they avoid certain meats, fat, egg yokes, etc. This from my experience

increases you VLDL=high LDL. This can happen from increased sugar intake and

lack of movement, lack of quality fat intake (body actually will start to

overproduce LDL from lack of quality fat intake), and increased insulin

production in the body. As well, from  inflammation most commonly in the form

of " leaky gut syndrome " where the tight gap junctions of the cells in

the gut wall become lose allowing for undigested food particles called " antigens "

to be allowed to pass into the blood stream triggering an immune response,

Malnourishment by consumption of to many refined carbohydrates/sugars (even the

obese are malnourished!), Seasonal changes due to the fact that the body will

raise its cholesterol levels in order to lower the freezing point of cells in

preparation for winter!, Excess stress by way of any of the primary 5 forms:

PHYSICAL, CHEMICAL, ELECTROMAGNETIC, PSYCHIC, NUTRITIONAL.

AS for BP, typically this will regulate by following some of these

basic recommendations. I have found it being because of increase cortisol

levels and insulin levels in the body. Increased insulin causes the kidneys to

retain salt, increased salt in the system causes water retention= High BP. As

well, insulin over stimulates the NS, which increased BP. The amount of blood

that is pumped out by the heart per contraction is increased, leading to

stiffer artery walls.

There are

many stressors in our lives: EMF, physical, mental, emotional, chemical,

nutritional, environment, spiritual, EGO, etc. You can track most dysfunctions

back to stress of some sort. A great book to by and read in order to lean more

nutrition and lifestyle principles is How to Eat, Move and Be Healthy by Paul Chek. This will teach you the basic

principles of life in order to lead a more vital lifestyle. Here are some below

to get started.

If it is white-----do not eat it! The

four white devils are white flour, white sugar, white salt (see #9) and

pasteurization and homogenization milk products. If you must use a dairy

product and cannot acquire raw dairy, choose Certified Organic as your

second choice. Additionally, those who are lactose sensitive should use

full-fat cream, which is very low in lactose and high in fat.

Additionally, you can enjoy a high quality yogurt, in which lactose is

predigested.

Avoid

any food made from any of the white

devils!

If

you can’t pronounce a word on a

label-----do not eat it, your liver won’t like it!

If

it wasn’t here 10,000 years ago,

don’t eat it!

Fruit juice is sugar water! Don’t drink it. Small quantities of freshly squeezed juice may be

ok as an occasional treat.

The

longer the shelf life, the more harmful it is likely to be to your body!

·

If irradiated, don’t eat it!

·

If pasteurized, it’s not good for you. Ultra-pasteurized

is very bad for you!

·

Unless

packaged in glass, the longer it’s been in the package, the more toxic it

will be! Plastics can leak what is called xenoestrogens, which are harmful to

the body. They can increase estrogen levels in females and put there hormonal

systems into a state of disarray.

Aside

from good water, if you are eating a food

that is clear------disease grows near! For example, clear apple

juice, clear honey and clear hydrogenated oils are all garbage foods to be

avoided.

Choose

products and meets in this order:

Certified

Organic Produce and Free Range Meats

Organic

Produce and Organic Meat

Locally

Farmed Produce and Locally Farmed Free Ranged Meat

Commercial

Produce and Commercial Hormone Free Meat

Commercial

Meat

Always

season foods and water with 100%

unprocessed sea salt. The best is Celtic, followed by sea salt

from New Zealand because there is less heavy metal toxicity there.

Drink ½ your body weight in pounds in ounces of water

daily.

·

For

example, a 200 pound man needs to drink 100 oz.

·

Nothing

substitutes for water, not tea, not juice, not beer….nothing!

·

Always

choose top selling brands such as Evian, Fiji, Trinity and Volvic because they

sell the fastest and therefore have the least exposure to plastic bottles.

·

Buy water

in glass if possible.

·

The most

health-giving waters have a hardness factor of 170 mg/L or greater and a Total

Dissolved Solids (TDS) of 300 or greater.

·

Adding a

pinch of sea salt to water is recommended to replace electrolytes.

Additionally, it will harden otherwise good, but soft waters and will

significantly increase the TDS.

Follow the 80/20 Rule.

If you live right 80% of the time, you can absorb the other 20%.

Always

eat right for your metabolic type.

Get to bed by 10 p.m. and sleep until 6 a.m. minimum.

·

The body

(physical) repairs itself from 10pm - 2pm

·

The mind

(spiritual and emotional) repairs itself from 2pm – 6am

I have a couple questions, 1: I always thought the lower TDS in water the better, not the greater? Why is this? 2) You recommend eating for your metabolic type, how is this determined and once you your type what should you eat?

Thanks for your help,

Bart

Aloha Joshua,

Thank you for your reply! I have somewhat of a unique problem

because we live on a sailboat. We have a refrigerator that is 4ft

cubic feet. It is TINY. When we go sailing, it is almost

impossible to not eat things that are not stored for a very long

time. To top it off, we are not wealthy people, although we would

be considered so if we lived in Kansas. But we don't we live

in " Paradise " . I also don't like buying bottled water because I hate

all the garbage. I live in Hawai'i and the landfills are already

filled and the recycling program here is a JOKE.

What is metabolic type?

But I do know that he's been drinking a lot lately, and I think that

is what has caused his increase in blood pressure and cholesterol.

Two years ago he got Transverse Myeilitis (sp?) in which the immune

system attacks the myelin sheath around the spinal cord. It is

extremely rare 1 in 1,000,000 people come down with it. Ever since

then he gets tired easily and has had the BP and Cholesterol

problems. All the doctors could do was give him steroids. I hate

the fact that doctors have made us so scared of our own bodies. And

make us scared take steps to make oursleves heathier just so they

can make money off of our illnesses. He has a difficult time

falling asleep, so his doctor gave him Ambien. His doctor said that

if he doesn't make changes he will be dead by the time he is 38.

He's 34!!! Does anyone have insight into this disease? Thank you

for your time. I am sorry for rambling, I just want us to feel

better.
