Guest guest
Hi Jean, I have a little pair of scissors I dip in rubbing alcohol and snip the skin tag off. Put on a bandaid, or rub with a styptic pencil to stop the little bleeding and....no skin tag! Been doing this for years with no problems. tang > Excuse my ignorance but exactly what are skin tags? Guest guest
Second that as the only way. It wasn't easy to do the first one, but it didn't hurt at all, and didn't bleed much. I used stainless surgical scissors which are cheap enough. The only problem I have now is some in places I can't reach and my wife is skittish about cutting them. Regards. - tangj2 herbal remedies Saturday, April 08, 2006 12:26 PM Re: Herbal Remedies - Intro with Question/Skin Tags Hi Jean,I have a little pair of scissors I dip in rubbing alcohol and snip the skin tag off. Guest guest
Thanks all for your suggestions. I like the garlic idea and am going to try that first. I'm too squeamish to cut anything off at the moment! :-b But if the garlic doesn't work for me I might try that too, though I did get reconnected to the salve I had mentioned, so...I will let you all know what I use and what works. BTW, skin tags can be really tiny or fairly large. I don't know if they are really true moles. They can occur anywhere I suppose but most people get them on their necks and they occur more frequently in overweight people or people of color. They are apt to occur where the skin touches itself due to creasing. Some people feel they are caused by a virus and others say that they are linked to colon polyps or polycystic ovaries. Guest guest
make sure you contain the garlic on the skin tag itself and not surrounding tissue - it will burn healthy skin! love Lisa de Haas Senior Moderator - " Jean " <jfish1754 <herbal remedies > Sunday, April 09, 2006 7:46 AM Re: Herbal Remedies - Intro with Question/Skin Tags > Thanks all for your suggestions. Guest guest
Thanks, I wouldn't have thought about that. Does anyone know if they ever clear up on their own once the underlying cause is brought under control? Guest guest
careful with snipping them off. I have done it as well but my brother in law had a larger one that caused a bit of trouble. he had a nerve grow into his and his would begin to bleed badly from anything even brushing against it. his had to be cut down into his chest to get the nerve with it kind of like a wart. by the way barb - from what I gather they are bsically like moles. more or less just as they sound- a little extra skin with no real purpose usually. some cases can be cancerous. they thought bro in laws might be. melisa
