Guest guest
Hi, Someone recently posted about planning a trip to Denver and wanting to know if anyone could recommend vegetarian restaurants in the area. I wanted to share a resource I've found very helpful when we travel: Healthy Highways: The Road Guide to Healthy Eating by David and Nikki Goldbeck. " With this guide's keyed state maps and local directions, you can easily find healthy meals, snacks and cooler provisions at any of 1,900 health-oriented eateries and natural food stores throughout the USA. " Healthy Highways Nikki & David Goldbeck Paperback: 432 pages Publisher: Ceres Press (April 30, 2004) Language: English ISBN: 1886101108 Enjoy! Guest guest
I think I'm going to find a copy of this book. I want to thank everyone for all the wonderful suggestions. It's been most helpful. I found that the more I changed my diet (for the better), the less I liked travelling. I just can't stand most of the pre-prepared, chemical-laden, overly-processed " food " that's offered in many restaurants. So I've learned to take food with me, but on longer trips, that gets difficult. So the last time I travelled, I did the same thing I'm doing this time. Looking ahead of time for places to buy food and restaurants that serve fresh-cooked, whole food. While still rare, I'm finding more and more restaurants that offer organic food. It's making travelling a bit easier. The small town I live in (southwest Iowa) has absolutely nothing in the way of organic restaurants. One of the local grocery stores finally has a very small selection of organic produce. I can almost always count on carrots, banans and apples, but occassionally they have lettuces, celery, potatoes and oranges. They just recently started stocking organic milk simply because I asked and asked and asked. Anyway, I just wanted to thank everyone for the help. It is most appreciated.
