Guest guest
-I have a question. I am on a well and somewhere I read that if you distill water there are a couple of herbcides it cannot eliminate and might even potentiate them and for that reason its not a good idea even tho it can take care of 98% of the problems. Has anyone else heard this? I drink bottled water because I am concerned about pesticides/herbicide runoff. Re R/O I was advised that it would be too expensive and keep our well pump going all the time I would appreciate any knowledgable feed back and I am insecure about contuing to purchase water in blue plastic bottles from local drinkmorewater.com stores. anne-- In herbal remedies , " atesixsevenfivethreeonine " <rtt1969 wrote: > > Incase anyone needs more information about deciding on distilled > water. > > I drank distilled water for 3 years and had no problem. > > I read on some sites that doctors were saying you shouldn't drink it > for more than 6 months. > > I drank it for 3 years, I'd like to know what do they think will > happen if you drink it for longer. > > I drink reverse osmosis now, only because it doesn't put off all > that heat, and it's quicker to make. >
Guest guest
On my well, I installed a paper filter to get the excess iron out, then an electric water softener. The good thing is it keeps everything clean, the bad thing is I hate the soft water taste and to wash in. It adds some salt I guess. THEY claim the softener removes everything. Now I have a new well much deeper with only small amounts of iron, like change the paper filter 6-9 months. That may not be possible everywhere, and the cost is much higher. Still, I use the store bought distilled or purified, and the main reason is I got tired of maintaining the distiller. I also don't care for the calcium buildup on faucets, but I recently replaced them and I sprayed them with Krylon clear acrylic first. That helps some. Another thing I do is spray the shower when wet with 409 antibacterial and that keeps the tile and grout clean too. Some plastic containers seem to have more taste than others, like the blue ones. Guest guest
Why not check out what type of soil is in your area? Did you know that "seepage" cannot permeate heavy clay soil? How deep your well is, is also a factor. Barb - hettenna herbal remedies Monday, April 03, 2006 6:57 PM Herbal Remedies - Re: Water/distilled and herbicides? -I have a question.
