in pain most of the time, He ends up on the floor, I'm wondering if

anyone has any ideas on anything that can help? The doctors tell him

to rest and told him to do back exerices, Its not helping much its

been over 2 monthes now hes been in pain, any ideas would be helpful.

I know exactly what your friend is going through,

because I have 2 degenerative discs. I'm 36 years

old, and the pain is not pleasant. 2 weeks ago I was

lifting my Mom's canned goods into her house (I'm not

supposed to lift things), and I became in more pain.

I went to the Spine Insititue (no more regular

doctors, we were going to a specialist this time) it

was a ways a way, but they did anothe MRI (2nd one on

my back in 2 months), the pain was so bad (it goes

down my siatica nerve, down my left leg) that I

couldn't sit on my left side & I was in constant pain.

They said I had a sacroiliac joint dysfunction also

and that is what happened from the lifting. So he

gave me a steroid cocktail shot, it took all my

husband had to stay sitting down while I was bent over

and the doctor came at me with a long needle, put it

in my back in this joint and moved it all over in it.

My knees buckled twice from the pain. He put me on a

narcotic and a narcotic/steroid mix. The steroid mix

breaks down my system, so I can't be around anyone who

has chickenpox or measles or I could die or who has a

cold or anything for I would end up in the hopital,

because my body couldn't fight against it. There are

many side effects of this medicine. I'm always hungry

& thirsty, makes your skin thin, & your itchy,

insomnia, etc. And I've had all these. It has been

terrible not to go anywhere. Tomorrow I will be able

to finally go somewhere. Monday I fell down the

stairs outside bringing a letter to the mail & guess

where I landed. Yep. I went the the emergency room,

they gave me a pain shot, and xrayed, no broken bones.

I'm bruised up on my right side (my good side). Now

they've added 800 mg ibopofren 3 times a day too.

This joint is where the spine connects to the hip &

pelvic bone. I'm still hurting a lot, and still can't

stand long, bending still kills me & the stairs. I go

back to the doctor on the 6th and if it isn't any

better he will put another long needle in my joint,

put in a probe and burn out my nerve going to my

brain, which is very scary, because it is a very

delicate procedure and I don't want to be crippled.

Anyhow I have got some relief with some exercises off

of the website of the place I went to on my back. It

hurts when I'm excercising and done, but it feels good

too, does that make sense? The website is

spine-health.com There is a lot of information on

the spine too and what to use. I know that isn't much

help, but I do know how he feels. I've read at the

website that the degenerative disc pain does get

better and gets more bearable. The exercises help

with the pain. Exercises for your hamstring muscles

are really good. The exercises on the website are

different than what the regular doctors gave me.

I hope your friend can get help & not be in so much

pain. Have him go to the website and look for the

excersises there.

Good luck.
