Guest guest
I HAVE FIBROMYALGIA,FOR OVER A YEAR NOW I HAVE BEEN TAKING 250 MG OF MAGNESIUM (WHICH IS A NATURAL MUSCLE RELAXER) AND 2400 MG OF FISH OIL (WHICH KEEPS DOWN THE INFLAMATION) IN THE MORNING AND AGAIN AT NIGHT. I HAVE TOLD DOCTORS THAT THESE WORK AS GOOD IF NOT BETTER THEN THE PAIN PILLS AND MUSCLE RELAXERS THAT THEY HAD ME ON. YOU JUST HAVE TO WATCH THE MAGNESIUM AND INTRODUCE IT SLOWLY INTO YOUR BODY,BECAUSE IT CAN CAUSE DIARREA UNTILL YOUR BODY GETS USE TO IT. Guest guest
be careful with too much magnesium also as it can possibly induce myasthenia gravis. I havent gotten a chance to introduce myself but that’s my diagnosis and upon studying the disorder that was one of the odd facts since MG can be autoimmune, congenital or drug induced. because magnesium IS a natural muscle relaxant it also has induced mg and let me tell you, its not fun! mine may have been stimulated in part from mag. sulfate used to delay labor with my preemie baby. just wanted to warn you is all. if you start noticing any strange even momentary periods of paralysis be careful. mine started very mild - my mouth (upper lip really) would just go limp for a minute.... next thing I know I cant use any of my body ! very scary. melisa
Guest guest
Shannon, Interesting. I had no idea that too much magnesium can induce MG. My mom was diagnosed with MG June of of 2005. Only started symptoms in May 2005 which started with double vision and progressed to muscle weakness and slurred speech and difficulty swallowing. Went into a crisis on the 4 th of July and was in ICU on a vent. She is on 2 meds for the MG and Prednisone and is doing fairly well now . I will have to check and see if she was taking any magneesium suppliments prior to symptoms starting. I kn ow stress can bring help induce symptoms abd my father had passed on in Feb. 2005 and my mom and dad both had influenza A in Jan. 20005 so I just thought these things were the factors causing the symtoms. I hope you are doing better now Shannon as I know observing my mother's symtoms how scarry and debilitating MG can be. Best wishes, Lindamelisa SHANNON <melisa_SHANNON_132 wrote: be careful with too much magnesium also as it can possibly induce myasthenia gravis.
