Osiyo Bob!

Be careful about saying DE kills internal bacteria.

DE - diatomaceous earth particles are so fine (small) it is certain death to

insects because DE kills by actually puncturing the insect's exoskeleton,

disrupting it's soft waxy shell structure, chewing up its digestive organs,

causing death in a short time by dehydration, and by slicing lung tissue and

clogging their respiratory systems.

Have you seen what and how DE is made?. In any case diatamaceous earth is the

remains of the silicate shells of marine diatoms and along with the amorphous

silica represents a severe respiratory health hazard. Wear masks when using it.

As far as I know DE has no antibacterial capabilities.

DE is used extensively in livestock animals to enhance food digestion by

un-clumping intestinal food.

Some pool filters use DE and you can purchase large bags from Pool supply

stores.

When I lived in Ft Lauderdale, FL we used DE indoors to keep the cockroach and

palmetto bug populations manageable. We did not use it outside because it rained

everyday during the summer.

Maybe you were thinking of colloidal silver (CS) solutions which kills pathogens

Re: To Lisa-cat/house fleas

Lisa, we use DE. Diatamecous Earth(sp). It's food grade and extremely fine.

You spread it around the house and it does the job. On the cat just sprinkle

some on (if yours is like ours we have to sneak it while brushing). Just be sure

it's food graand then you can even sprinkle some on their food and it kills

internal parasites. Works on people too. It should be available about

everywhere, but be sure it's Food Grade DE. Bob.
